Tyler, The Creator - Wolf
80

Tyler, The Creators project WOLF, is an album where he tries to take the next step and succeeds. This album sonically is a drastic step up from Goblin, but there are some flaws. The lyrics seem repetitive where he says controversial words for the hell of it. This album reeks Odd Future as the majority of features are with members of the group. Still, the majority of songs sound smoother than Goblin, which makes the overall listen much better. This album succeeds in telling a compelling story ... read more

Logic - Vinyl Days

Lowkey, this is one of Logics' best singles ever. If the album is anything like this single, Logic might have a little redemption arc.

Kanye West - Donda 2
55

Kanye releases his stemplayer exclusive album Donda 2, and it's interesting. The stemplayer is a little music device that allows you to import songs and mix and edit them easily with modes like removing bass or making certain portions repeat or slow down. Donda 2 was released exclusively for the stemplayer as a marketing tool to encourage people to buy it, but with an easy search on SoundCloud, you can get the entire album for free. This album is unfinished as some songs are just missing verses ... read more

Denzel Curry - Melt My Eyez See Your Future
90

Denzel Curry drops his best project to date with Melt My Eyez, See Your Future. Usually, there is some type of Rock influence on a Denzel Curry album, whether that be the beats, the features, or just his flow in general, but here, he thrives on changing it up and going for some quieter melodic rapping. He obviously has songs where he goes balls to the wall and keeps his old style, but he calmed it down, which most believed would hinder his performance, but it didn't. This album shows his ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers
90

Kendrick Lamar releases his most experimental album with Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. This album shows Kendrick Lamar in a new light as he raps about his vulnerability and describes many situations with his family, like in the songs "We Cry Together" and Auntie Diaries." The only songs I have issues with are Rich Spirit, Rich (interlude) and Auntie Diaries. Rich Spirit is just a mediocre Kendrick Lamar song with nothing special to make this song a "Goods" song. ... read more

Alfie Templeman - Forever Isn't Long Enough

I didn't really know much about Alfie Templeman but saw ads for his album on Instagram, so I took a look, and I'm impressed. Forever isn't Long Enough is a good LP with a disco-type feel I haven't felt from an album in years. The 3 songs I put in "The Goods" are absolute bangers with catchy lyrics and instrumentals. My main criticisms are that at a point in this LP, the songs seem to get repetitive and boring, and the last song, "One More Day," is downright horrendous and ... read more

J. Cole - The Off-Season
80

It took a while to soak up this album, and I've come to the verdict that it's just very decent. J Cole will always be lyrically amazing, but in this album, I feel like his production as a whole is a step above his past projects. There will always be the corny Jcole verses, but I feel there were fewer corny and more impressive lyrics throughout this album. The features were a surprising addition to the album, but they were some of the best verses on the whole project. 21 Savage and Lil Baby ... read more

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
95

What is there more to say than this is a lyrical and musical masterpiece. Kanye has always been a musical genius, but this album cemented him as one of the best musicians/producers of all time. My only issue is that Hell Of A Life and Blame Game are very mediocre and that Who Will Survive in America shouldn't be its own song. Besides these flaws, every other song is a 90-100 with powerful meanings and beautiful music. I just wish Kanye would make another album like this.

The Goods: Dark ... read more

Logic - The Incredible True Story
75

Logic gets way too much hate for the majority of his projects, but this is one of his best. This album is just a catchy Pop Rap album with a fascinating story. I didn't rate the scenes, but I'm a big fan of the ones where Logic shows his goofy side when writing out the skits because that what he's known for. My main issue with this project is that some songs come off as a little "out of place," and some features are downright horrendous and don't mesh well with Logics' "Eminem ... read more

Squid - Bright Green Field
85

Even tho I'm not the biggest fan of this genre of music, I had to take a look at this album, and wow, this was a great listen. Obviously, there was a little too much hype around this album, but it did not disappoint. Squids instrumentals on this album are killer and figuratively make my ears cream. I'm not the biggest fan of the British-sounding vocals, but they mesh perfectly, and the overall feel and vibe of this album are stellar. It's just extremely catchy, and for a debut album, this is ... read more

Playboi Carti - Whole Lotta Red
55

After a few listens over the months, I can come to the conclusion that this album is extremely mid for Carti standards. Obviously, it was heavily criticized at launch with people giving it scores in the 10 to 20's but after a couple of months I can see the vibe that Carti was trying to get off with this album but I find the mixing, adlibs, and overall sound of some songs to be irritating and in some moments unlistenable. The first half is not good with the highlights being features but the ... read more

Baby Keem & Travis Scott - durag activity
40

The Instrumentals on this track are my style but Keem ruins this song. He just sounds boring and bland plus the hook was downright horrendous. Travis will be Travis but even he couldn't save this song. Let's hope Keem can redeem himself.

Trippie Redd & Playboi Carti - Miss The Rage
65

The beat is gas, the rapping not so much.

J. Cole - i n t e r l u d e

Rwanda's Star Point Guard Jermaine Cole with a great teaser for us here

Lovejoy - Are You Alright?

Wilbur sounds a little unnatural on the majority of the tracks. The instrumentals are excellent, but issues with the mixing ruin it. I feel like this EP will get overhyped because of who Wilbur is, but there is potential here.

5/16/20 Edit: After some time listening to it, I can start to admire how catchy and how this music can easily get stuck in your head. The band is just fantastic, and for 4 songs, this is honestly very decent. Sex Cells is one of the better songs on this project. I still ... read more
