This was the first complete work I heard from Beyoncé and my god it was fantastic!
The album is very well arranged and matches the aesthetics (which is also beautiful), in addition to being amazingly produced. The featurings are brilliant and they all add to the music, making it even more addictive.
The songs are great and do the job they need to do within the album: saying the message the singer wants to convey. In this album I believe it is clear that she wants to work on the ... read more
I only knew two songs from this album before listening completely: "Flume" and "Skinny Love". It's a very intense album lyrically I think the more you listen to it the better it gets. The production and melodies accompany the lyrics well, conveying the feeling of love, often accompanied by discomfort. Awsome work.
Favorite tracks:
- Skinny Love
- Blindsided
- Creature Fear
This will be very biased because Halsey was a big part of my life in 2015-2017. But god what a great album! Definitely should have heard it sooner. She does an incredible job telling about a very difficult and personal experience, I could feel like I was in her shoes. Comparing to her older works, I think there has been a change and even greater maturity in The Great Impersonator.
Favorites tracks:
- Only Living Girl in LA
- Dog Years
- The End
- I Never Loved You
I felt like a lot of what I listen to in folk pop these days is hugely inspired by this album. The compositions are beautiful and complement the singer's production and voice very well. The album holds up very well with a kinda of cozy vibe lol
My favorite tracks were:
- All I Want
- Carey
- The Last Time I Saw Richard
I really love how the songs kinda tell a short story, the lyrics are intimist and tied together by the midwest emo type of melody. I really liked the EP!!
