Nothing groundbreaking. But a well-crafted, alt-rock ballad, with interesting chord progressions and an amazing melody that gives the song a dreamy, introspective yet larger-than-life feel. I would have liked a bit more variation after the guitar solo but overall, an excellent track by Linkin Park that deserves more love.
I have mixed feelings towards this song. On one hand, it does sound great. On the other, this is some incredibly lazy sampling even though it's legal and Able has credited the original artist. It's (almost) a direct copy/paste with lyrics and melody changed (hell of a chorus). In the end, it ends up sounding less of an original piece of work and more like a (arguably) lesser remix.
I saw the score and thought this was just AOTY circlejerking to Kendrick once again. But nope.
I got no adjective to describe this thing, it really is disgusting. Not just a diss, but a metaphorical assassination of Drake and his legacy and image.
