Nothing groundbreaking. But a well-crafted, alt-rock ballad, with interesting chord progressions and an amazing melody that gives the song a dreamy, introspective yet larger-than-life feel. I would have liked a bit more variation after the guitar solo but overall, an excellent track by Linkin Park that deserves more love.
I have mixed feelings towards this song. On one hand, it does sound great. On the other, this is some incredibly lazy sampling even though it's legal and Able has credited the original artist. It's (almost) a direct copy/paste with lyrics and melody changed (hell of a chorus). In the end, it ends up sounding less of an original piece of work and more like a (arguably) lesser remix.
I saw the score and thought this was just AOTY circlejerking to Kendrick once again. But nope.
I got no adjective to describe this thing, it really is disgusting. Not just a diss, but a metaphorical assassination of Drake and his legacy and image.
You know what? I was really, *really* feeling this up to the first chorus. This had potential to be a very good early 2010s electro-pop track. The kick drums, the bass guitar, the synths were all great, and JB did a decent job at riding the instrumentals up till the chorus. The melody of the chorus was strong and catchy and all that was left was to have a satisfying payoff to the buildup. And there's where that obnoxious drop came in which not only killed the sweet dance-party vibe, but made ... read more
In regards to this project being a "soundtrack" - it is masterfully crafted. Whether it is perfect will obviously differ from individual to individual. But goddamn does this thing stand the test of time (and will continue to do so).
Apart from being a well-crafted album that not only complemented, but also helped in lifting the game to its legendary status, this album was truly something else for its time.
It would be well expected, that at the time, many atmospheric horror games to ... read more
Bro really came back after 6 years of hiatus to release one of the most generic Kpop albums of the year. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but something akin to ‘White Night’ at least. My expectations weren’t high and yet I’m still disappointed.
What a drop in quality since We’ve Done Something Wonderful. Also the group seems to be WAYY too hard to show how “with the times” they are, and not 40-year-old dudes rapping like 20-year-olds at times.
Giorgio by Moroder and Touch are absolutely phenomenal and some of Daft Punk's best tracks. FUCK YOU, FIGHT ME.
Both the composer (Santaolalla) and the creative director of the game (Druckmann) knew how the first game was perfectly self-contained and didn't need any sort of continuation.
So how fitting it is, that the soundtrack is equally as derivative and uninspired as the sequel itself.
The tracks on here feel like leftover from the first game's OST.
