Friko - Where we've been, Where we go from here

Also another album ive always wanted to give a review but never got around to, I'm so absolutely excited for whatever this band has next in store because this is an absolutely AWESOME debut, a cheeky, charming indierock album that constantly keeps my atttention and makes me come back for more

Backxwash - Only Dust Remains
90

As someone who has been exposed to backxwash before, starting with her 2021 album "I lie here buried with my rings and dresses", ive always appreciated her sound, but i didn't really put her on a major podium, only dust remains changed that and shook me to my core. this is undoubtedly one of my favorite hip hop releases this year and might BE my favorite, and we're not even halfway through 2025.

A macabre and imposing plunge into the rawest, darkest and realest corners of ... read more

Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane
80

Smooth as silk and insanely charismatic, adam lavine’s voice is just so sexy here.
I’ve always bought into the negative stigma surrounding maroon V and generally, thought that i didn’t like them as a band at all relegating them to only being radio fodder, comparing them to the popular boy bands at the time like nsync, backstreet boys, etc, i only decided to check this out due to the recommendation of someone and WOW was i surprised.
song’s about jane entrances you in a ... read more

Doechii - Anxiety

Reviewing this because the mv came out and like this is still poop out the butt but its really not as bad as people make it out to be, the adlibs are pretty catchy and doechii’s overall vocal performance is pretty good but god is this song corny

Dave Blunts - You Can't Say That
5

Why does he look photoshopped in on the album cover 😭
I was extremely bored when i decided to try and listen to this thing and i wanted to make a review that didn’t require me to use much processing power and like, yea man, its a dave blunts album.

Keeping this relatively short and simple, dave blunts has built a career off of saying heinous and deprived shit so he could leech off of people on the internet posting clips of his songs on twitter; whether it received good or bad ... read more

AJJ - People Who Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World

cute little rabbit
a short and concise album with a relatively quick runtime, and during the actual listening experience it goes by in a flash, due in part to the high octane and fast instrumentation and guitar strumming. filled with juxtaposing lyrics of nihilism with an underlying pretense of faith and hopefullnes, although being a little too on the nose, the album isn't really trying to go for subtlety, the vocals might be polarizing to alot of people but i love them personally

Panchiko - Ginkgo
78

woowowowoo this is just like radiohead.
After many years from the release of their blowout LP deathmetal; a once digital anomaly that amassed a cult following due in part by the mystique and story surrounding the story of the album, Panchiko has regrouped and focused their efforts on riding the stride deathmmetal caught and make new projects, and in 2022, they were met with overall positive reception in the form of their official sophomore album, Failed at Math(S), a sort of pseudo-sequel to ... read more

Kyle Gordon - Kyle Gordon Is Wonderful
65

This tethers a line between discontent for the sort of ‘archetype’ of music it parodies and genuine sincerity for the eras and genres it makes fun of. it takes someone whose enlightened and well-engrossed of the source material and some sort of degree of respect In order to make a spoof meant to mock it genuinely so reminiscent of the music its parodying, i love the sort of radio talkshow interludes that introduce the next track because they personify every song and gives them an ... read more

Black Country, New Road - Forever Howlong
87

I really don't want to bring up isaac because it feels so redundant at this point. Not only does the band deserve to move on, but so does isaac himself, but a large part of the contention surrounding the release of a new potential bcnr album in the first place was the question; " would the band still uphold itself to the degree of their past work now they're missing such a big part of their ensemble? ".
Isaac brought such a somber and powerful sense of emotion to the band ... read more
