U.K. journalists have compared this Argentine songwriter to Bowie and Lennon. I would go more contemporary with my comparisons; Jarvis Cocker , Cox & Bankston of the Exploding Hearts or Miles Kurosky. Amazing songwriters though, I wish Juan Pablo Mazzola would do as they have done and find confidence in his inability to sing. Lush and stirring. First, hushed and tingling & later, driving and swelling. None of the songs ever get past the lower registers of velocity, but some do use gravity to trickle lightly into a rain shower. Gone are the twangier guitar accompaniments from RY X' first release, only to reveal more abstract tones to float away on. I don't miss the more traditional elements but I can't say that this album is better than 2016's Dawn. Nor can I say it's worse.

When I started listening, seeing 13 tracks was kinda ... read more

It's got a lil' of everything that the kids like these days but not at all in a patronizing way. I mean Kill Bill, Rav, and the EXO folks are young people fresh from internet youth culture. Jazz, hypnagogic pop, self-reflection and, of course, hip hop blend together nearly perfectly. A ... read more
