Los Thuthanaka - Los Thuthanaka

Shards of the 6-in-the-morning South American AM radio station blasted through every household of the working class, crystalized into this weird concoction that has left me without words to describe it other than "It plays this character so well". At the risk of sounding like I'm really fishing for words here: this is the first time -- and possibly the last -- that I can truly say that an album has gave me a feeling of revelation; the choices of sound give me these odd ... read more

One of the most stunning, heart tightening albums that I've taken for granted over the course of 2 years. I first discovered this in 2023 through Bandcamp; only then to eventually forget about it to rediscover it this year. Seeing the amount of support, the news, and the number of advocates for this album made me break down in the first track. Everything I missed from the original listen sparked in my head and made my eyes feel heavy as my skin ignited into a nauseous, pale color. The ... read more

when you buy a property in egypt what they do for you is they give you the property and at least give you something to write home about

There is no element that screams that they made this for money and it's very much apparent that he did it for the love of his fans and to grow his community. ill try and give it a re listen , maybe my ears are just tuned wrong or something because judging by the comments i am obviously missing the passion that went into this project

"yo that skeletrix song is garbage anyway turn on that new kendrick"

this is an album that takes time to get used to, and that's okay. but for the people who didn't like this because of it's concentrated sound (which is a valid criticism, but please give this more time to click for you) listen to the second one it has a more universal appeal and im really hoping you would like GOD, so far it's a favorite within the ... read more

When I go online there's not that much known about the band so I'm only assuming that their intentions was to only have fun. That's what makes this album so unique and bountiful with subtle surprises.

Easily one of the most underestimated yet sweetest albums I've ever listened to. I hope to see this artist reach a mere 1K monthly listeners soon, even if it took 25 years for this to finally be shown to the rest of the world. Only a small handful of artists can truly maintain ... read more

The Microphones - The Glow Pt. 2

Surprised at how I felt after listening, I really wanted (or was) expecting it to be a solid 100.

it took a couple listens for me to familiarize with its rawness and subtle intricacies. Maybe it was just me expecting something totally different, but it left me underwhelmed and my brain jaded and tired only to jolt me out of my sunken seat as it transitions to 'samurai sword'.

I was perplexed at first. as all albums come and go the least you can do is give it a chance. giving it an ... read more

tracks 8-10 are good. vague, not much to say here. just any standard bedroom pop album that's not really replayable but the tracks individually are alright

what puts me off is that some/most of the songs slow down as to try and make them last longer. rating would have bumped a to a solid 75 if it was put to a halt or only used in places where it logically made sense or sounded better with it. what really puzzled me in a good (question mark) way was el sontana. i've never heard ... read more

keep it goin' xav!

had a small phase in my life where I would listen to nothing but this artist. iit's fun, at times even goofy (but in a good way) and reminds me of a handful of artists who aren’t afraid to lean into their true sides while still delivering quality and keeping the energy throughout the album.

i wish with everything in my soul that I can write more about this album
its not only the sound but it's the emotional attachment i have for this that might bias my score a little bit

i've gotten ran over by a car and almost got shot while having Adams vocals praying in my ear. ive fallen crawled and gotten backup with this album allowing me to have the strength to go through all three.

it really is one of the only albums that struck my emotional backbone. maybe it's the fact ... read more

A great closing to the band. Honestly the only band i've known that actually makes the lyrics tear your heart.

It is disheartening to realize that a band with such immense potential was gone before I even knew of it's existence, and that a group with a discography so innovative and exhilarating has such a small fanbase. However, I find comfort in knowing that the average TBLA fan is a passionate devotee, even if our numbers are alarmingly sparse.

"Okumay is not experimental ... read more

"@htyfg11 there are lots of themes and layers that went into this project & i want to make sure that the messages that this album is trying to perceived is what I'm getting from it. i'm gonna give it some time to form an opinion to try to decipher the point the album is trying to get across and keep an open mind. the rating is mostly what I thought the theme was plus its performance musically my fault i knew it was mainly just a rant, i will 100% try and articulate what I think about it soon because it is definitely something that's unique and even when listening to Skeletrix's music before I was astonished by how stood out this album was thanks for liking it !"
