As a fan of Sonic Youth I was recommended to check this compilation out. On first listen I only liked the Contortions tracks, but it's held up really well with time (DNA especially have grown on me).
A lot of the tracks here are like shoegaze in their mixing and composition, with many elements fighting in similar frequency ranges (what people today would call "bad" and "unclear"), which some listeners might find off-putting (along with the aggressive guitars and vocals ... read more
