13 years well worth the wait, this album is mavus (or however you spell marvelous)
The Troubles is good, but the rest I didn't care for too much. Love the Yaya Toure shout though
I came across the singles to this project and they really intrigued me. The whole album is really good. There's this through line of this background synth(?) that plays a similar if not the same line in a lot of the songs that I think is a cooll throughline, though it does somewhat limit the uniqueness of each track. However, the songs are catchy and show a lot of skill. Dare I say it's better than the underscores album?
I hired a kid to work on my farm a couple years ago. Unfortunately, he left the gate open and some of my animals escaped. I scrambled to round them up, but a one still got away. But last week, I heard a sound, a bleat going "Ye Ye Ye." I rushed out immediately, desperately looking around. Sure enough, the last animal I was looking for curled up in its enclosure. That's how I knew, my GOAT was back.
Kind of disappointed by this album, because I loved the first two singles but the rest of the album felt kind of samey.
This EP is quite nice for what we get, a sharp sampler of the sounds Sarah Kinsley likes to create. I am quite excited to see what she does next, I really did wish I could have gotten more songs.
Starts off really strong, but I feel like the quality of the songs taper off on the second half of the project. Other than that, the features are all really strong, it's kind of crazy the pull .idk has to get so many heavy hitters on a single project.
Liberals: Shakespeare would be a democrat!! >:((
Conservatives: No he would be republican!! >:(
Shakespeare if we came back to life: I'm quite fond of this Lausse the Cat fellow.
Pretty solid project with neat prod and an interesting concept, but the core conceit didn't land with me, I think that's okay. It obviously crit with much of the AOTY crowd.
It's an amazing night ride experience to listen to, but I recently went to their live show, which elevated the experience for me immensely. If you can cop tickets to their tour, I would wholeheartedly recommend it.
I find myself coming back to this more often than I thought I would. It's vulnerable, humorous, driving, and just straight up catchy.
I saw her open for Jordana back in January, and she has a gorgeous voice (thank you for signing the poster too). Unfortunately I don't think it carries the entire runtime of the album, as I started to get fatigued of the sound partway through. I will definitely pull a couple of individual songs into my rotation though, specifically the opener "Don't Cry" and "I Want It All", the latter of which I am even more endeared to because it was my favorite of her live set.
