They are trying too hard to make a grand, poignant monolith of a work. All it sounds like is bloated material, with a bunch of filler interludes that try to be all cutting-edge. Kidz Bop sounds better than this for all I know.
Fiona's magnum opus: raw emotion and ambition scattered through 13 songs. I mean I have never had a rollercoaster of emotions with an album since In Rainbows in 2007. This will hopefully affect the landscape on indie music (a 10 on Metacritic!) into making more boundary-pushing art that aren't just cliché songs about being with your friends. All I can say is: the 2020s sure look fucking promising.
