I thought the album was good. Pale is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time.
Without knowing any of the things that Daughters members have done, I don't get the hype. at all. Let alone the fact that this band has the worst reputation. This album is great for people who like hearing nails on chalkboards. This is coming from someone who enjoys the genre. Do people actually listen to this? There's just so much better music to be listening to.
This album is one great big vibe. I would say that in comparison to his discography, this one seems to be the dreamiest. Some genuinely great songs on this record. Salt, Walk, Mud, Snot. All great tracks. I will always come back to this album. There seems to be infinite replay value, even after all of these years.
The quintessential Alex G record that best represents who he is and where he began to shine the most. I think this album is where we see Alex begin to take risks. No longer a kid making music in his basement, he begins to set himself apart from any and every sort of label or genre. Advice is my favorite track from the album. Adam is another great one. Since TikTok has blown this album up, it is really hard to enjoy tracks like Mary. No discredit to the music, just completely worn out.
