Snow Strippers - April Mixtape 2
72

I've seen the name Snow Strippers being thrown around as a good electronic club band for a while, but one of my friends told me that Snow Strippers listeners don't shower so I've put it off for months. Whoops. However, I heard "So What If I'm a Freak" and...it was awesome. I loved it, so I decided to check out their highest rated mixtape on both RYM and AOTY, being bolded on RYM and just barely missing must hear on AOTY by 20 ratings. I was...a little disappointed ... read more

Kyuss - Welcome to Sky Valley

This album reminded me to actually listen to more metal. Thanks Kyuss! The instrumentals are consistently fresh and if not always the most interesting, at least sound nice. I haven't listened to much stoner metal at all, but apparently this was one of the first stoner metal albums. Again, thanks Kyuss! This album is honestly really great. Not much else to say. I like the vocals enough, too, which is rare for metal.

I absolutely adore some Deftones songs. Cherry Waves is some of the best shoegaze ever made and some of the alt-metal songs are honestly incredible. However. Pink Cellphone. What the actual fuck is that. I was just laughing for my entire first listen of it because there's no way that outro got seriously put in something. It's whatever I'm still giving the album an good score. This album is so insanely inconsistent but the highs are crazy so it's still getting a good ... read more

twikipedia - chronic

What can I say. It's just a really solid twikipedia album. The influence from Jane Remover's frailty is really prevalent, and I really like the production. My only real problem with the album is that sometimes it gets a bit too emo-feeling, and the production isn't quite cool enough to justify that. Still a great project though.

Jockstrap - I Love You Jennifer B

Wow. I'm fucking wowed. This is one of the best electronic albums I've ever heard. I loved Georgia Ellery's violin playing on BC,NR and with the electronic production by Taylor Skye, it especially shines on this album. His production is genius, and Georgia's voice shines. It's such a weird album, and I love it so much.

Favorite tracks: Greatest Hits (100), Concrete Over Water
Least Favorites: Angst

Chico Buarque - Construção

I've loved this album from the first time I heard Construção. Amazing vocals, good production, and incredible lyrics. I continue to rave on about albums that I love...and no surprise this is no different. It's whatever though because this one is actually in my top 15. I love Chico Buarque so much, man.

Favorite tracks: Deus lhe Pague, Construção, Samba de Orly

Asian Glow - 11100011

The first "good" 2025 full album release, and finally another release from an artist that I've had my eye on since listening to Weatherglow, their collab with Weatherday sometime during 2023. I loved that (mostly due to Weatherday), but I unfortunately haven't really been huge on anything that they've released since. Their collabs with Parannoul and sonhos tomam conta have almost been good but were brought down by weird choices in production and vocal mixing and ... read more
