Mac Miller - Balloonerism
85

Balloonerism by Mac Miller is super haunting but very well produced. He was a very talented artist. The album reminds me a lot of Faces, but not as amazing. I love Mac's voice and his production choices, listening to this album with headphones on is really something. Songs like Do you have a destination, 5 dollar pony rides, Friendly hallucinations, Stoned and Funny papers are amazing. There are no bad songs on here, but to me the rest of the songs kind of blend together and it is a bit ... read more

Jack Harlow - Jackman.
81

Jackman by Jack Harlow is a great shift in his career, going from more of a mainstream album to a more niche and rap centric album. The production is smooth and his flow is even smoother. If it wasn’t for gang gang gang, there would be no skips on the album for me. I love the direction Jack is going into on here. The content is mostly good and the lyrics are better than they were on his last project. I feel like the production is lush and feels like summer. Sometimes I feel like even if ... read more

Clipse - Let God Sort Em Out
86

Call me crazy but this was the first Clipse album I have ever listened to. I knew about them and had heard songs but never a full album from front to back. I had also listened to every Pusha T solo album before this one. After one listen, I was hooked. The album is really good, the wordplay is impressive, the flows are great and the production is also very good. Pharrell proves once again how talented he is as a producer. On the flipside, I don't like Pharrell's contributions on the ... read more

Juice WRLD - The Party Never Ends
55

Juice WRLD is one of my favorite artists ever, but The Party Never Ends was sadly disappointing. In my opinion, this has nothing to do with Juice’s talent, but more with poor management, bad song choices, and weak sequencing on the album.

The intro, The Party Never Ends, is good, but the original leak called Oxy in the Dark is a thousand times better. The fact that the label tried to make the album feel like a live show is annoying during that first track, but it’s even worse ... read more

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2
90

Alfredo 2 by Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist is my favorite rap album of 2025. The jazzy and impeccable production from The Alchemist, mixed with the amazing rapping ability of Freddie Gibbs, really makes for a perfect blend. Personally, I put it on the same level as Alfredo. The tracklist is consistent, and the vibe of each song blends very well with the next.

To me, the features from Anderson .Paak and JID are perfect, and the one from Larry June is probably the weakest point of the entire ... read more

JID - God Does Like Ugly
83

First of all, I am a big JID fan, The Forever Story is one of my favourite albums of all time so I had high expectations. I can't lie, when the preluxe released I was disappointed with the songs. I liked "behold" and "Lisa" with 6LACK but the one with Eminem and the one with Yachty didn't connect at all with me. After the preluxe, the hype died down a bit for me. After the first listen, I liked the album but didn’t love it but with each listen I liked the ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - GNX
87

GNX by Kendrick Lamar came out of nowhere. The album picks up directly after the beef with Drake. The opener is amazing with great production and energy from Kendrick. Right away, we know that this isn't going to be a conceptual album like his previous ones. That still doesn't mean that it isn’t going to be enjoyable. Songs like "squabble up", "hey now" and "tv off" are great and have infectious production with catchy lyrics. There are also ... read more

Baby Keem - Ca$ino
55

Baby Keem is back after 5 years. I can't say I had super high expectations because I am not a fan of his, but I like a lot of his songs. Even if my expectations were pretty low, I was a bit disappointed with the project. I was expecting some innovation. Some songs were super energetic and I love those from Baby Keem. "Ca$ino" and "House Money" are standouts right away because of the energy. Kendrick's short feature on "House Money" is very good and ... read more

A$AP Rocky - Don't Be Dumb
65

To me this is a good project, nothing less, nothing more. Some songs are really good, but others are just boring and influenced by hip hop's current sound that just doesn't fit A$AP's original sound at all. I think he could've tried being more "artsy" like he's always been, and the replay value would have been way better for me. For example, Don't Be Dumb, Trip Baby is on the more artsy side and is by far my favourite song from the project. I also loved ... read more

J. Cole - The Fall-Off
95

The Fall-Off by J. Cole is a masterpiece and one of the best albums I've heard in years. This is definitely Cole’s best or second best project, it’s right there with 2014FHD. I went into this album with really high expectations and it still managed to exceed them. I hadn't been this excited for a release in a long time.
Disc 29 is my favorite overall but I think the highest highs are actually on Disc 39. The rap verse on “39 Intro,” the entire run of “The ... read more

Jack Harlow - Monica
84

I really enjoyed the shift in sound from his previous albums. The production is enjoyable and is easily the strongest point of the project. It might be a hot take, but I love the way his voice blends with the jazzy production. The lyrics are simplistic, but that isn’t an issue for me. The 28‑minute runtime is actually a good thing, because the album stays consistent from start to finish.
Songs like Trade Places are infectious, and the transitions between tracks are always very smooth. I ... read more
