Kanye’s legacy keeps getting dragged because of his comments, but now his legacy is actually getting touched because of the music and it’s sad to see. There’s no real quality on here, I won’t go back to it. The only part of the album I liked was the Freddie Gibbs verse on Back to me. Sadly, a bad album by Kanye West.

Future - MIXTAPE PLUTO
20

ixtape Pluto doesn’t have anything going for it. We got 25 and 17 song albums a couple months before, I feel like it’s just too much music from Future that all sounds the same. Maybe if he released it a year removed from the other 2 albums he dropped in 2024 I would have enjoyed it more, but it has no replay value at all for me. It is just bad.
Lil demon is the only song I kept and it is just an ok Future song, nothing more than that.

Future - WE STILL DON'T TRUST YOU
38

We still don’t trust you came out a month after We don’t trust you and is nowhere close to its predecessor. I like the first 3 songs, but the length of the album is horrible. Twenty five songs, a month after a 17 song album, is too much. Future’s sound is super repetitive, especially on this album where he is on a more r&b production. It gets old quick and there isn’t much value to the album.
Out of my hands is my favourite song from this album and one of my ... read more

Cordae - The Crossroads
61

I have a weird relationship with Cordae’s music. I always get drawn to it, I think it is because I am a J. Cole fan and he is really inspired by him. The Crossroads is an album that came and went for me. I listened to it a lot for a short period of time and it sadly got old quickly. Songs like 06 dreamin, Back on the road and Saturday morning are impressive to me.
I really find quality in Cordae’s music, he’s super talented and has a great ear for production, it just is a bit ... read more

Eminem - The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)
50

I am always excited for Eminem music. Eminem is one of the best songwriters of all time. On this album, Eminem keeps trying to get the nostalgia back from his Slim Shady persona and it doesn’t come naturally. Sometimes it feels like he’s just being explicit for the sake of it. On his first couple albums, it felt natural, that’s why it was provocative, now it feels forced.
I would like to hear a more mature and reflective Eminem album on calmer and better production. I would ... read more

Freddie Gibbs - You Only Die 1nce
80

Freddie Gibbs is one of the most consistent rappers in the game right now. His albums always have the right amount of songs, he often teams up with some of the best producers in the industry and he is one of the best technical rappers too. You only die 1nce is no exception. It’s a great album with great beats. He is a great writer, has witty bars and his production choices are top tier. There’s not a skip on the album.
34 minutes of runtime is the perfect length too. Some of the ... read more

ScHoolboy Q - BLUE LIPS
70

Blue lips by Schoolboy Q is a better album than its 2019 predecessor CrasH Talk. It is energetic at times and reflective at times. The writing is mostly good. Blueslide is a nice tribute to his best friend Mac Miller 5 years after his passing. Pop with Rico Nasty is an amazing banger with a great beat. Same for Thank god 4 me which was one of my most listened to songs of 2024. oHio with Freddie Gibbs is also a standout. The beat switches all over the album keep the listener ... read more

Future - WE DON'T TRUST YOU
75

WE DON'T TRUST YOU by Future and Metro Boomin was long awaited and delivered for the most part. When the album finally dropped, it felt like the project sadly got overshadowed by Kendrick Lamar’s Drake and J. Cole diss on the song Like that. Like that is by far the biggest hit on the album and is my personal favourite. The impact of that song, especially the Kendrick verse, will go down in music history. It was the moment that started the 2024 feud between Kendrick and Drake.

Denzel Curry - King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2
79

King of the mischievous south vol. 2 is a big shift from his previous album Melt my eyes, see your future in sound and concept. The album is good and enjoyable. It really gets its point across to pay homage to southern hip hop. The album is fun to listen to and a good length. Denzel is a really talented artist and we can see it on here. The energy he brings is always intense and his mic presence is one of the best there is.
The first 4 tracks, excluding the interlude, are amazing and really set ... read more

J. Cole - Might Delete Later
63

Might delete later by J. Cole is a weird one. It came out more or less a week after the Kendrick Lamar diss on Future’s and Metro Boomin’s Like that so at the time it was seen as a response. That didn’t age well because not even a week after it came out, Cole literally deleted from every platform 7 minute drill which is a track entirely aimed at Kendrick Lamar. When I first heard it I was super hyped but looking back on it now the song was weak and Cole made the right decision ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA
80

Tyler releases an album every 2 years and I remember, as soon as I saw the weird teaser he posted on Instagram, that he was coming out with a new album. I was excited to hear from Tyler especially because the run he’s been on since 2017’s Flower Boy has been flawless. The album is his most introspective and personal. Songs like Hey Jane, Judge Judy and Like him are super well written and personal.
There are only 2 skips on the album for me, Sticky and Balloon. To be honest, it ... read more

Joey Bada$$ - Lonely At The Top
40

I am always excited for a new Joey Bada$$ album, but I felt like there was no hype at all for this release. He is a very talented rapper. I really liked his last album, but this one sadly wasn’t it. There’s not a song on here that’s better than the 3 song EP he released in early 2025.
There’s not much to say, some of the wordplay is nice, we see his talent, it’s just something that’s been done before, standard boom bap production with classic New York flow. ... read more

Tory Lanez - PETERSON
20

I was happy to hear from Tory Lanez because I generally like his music. Normally, I love longer songs, but on this album, even if the songs weren’t long, I felt like they dragged a lot. The first listen was hard to be honest. The only song I kept out of this 20 song project was MAWA interlude. I liked his energy and braggadocio on it.
It was to be expected because it was mostly recorded from prison, but the sound quality is bad. I’d rather hear an album full of unreleased songs from ... read more

PARTYNEXTDOOR - $ome $exy $ongs 4 U
30

First of all I am a big Drake fan. This album was not it. It is his worst album in my opinion. It didn’t have any replay value for me and it was long and boring. The best songs on here were just ok and there wasn’t a production or a performance that made me want to listen to it more than once other than NOKIA, SOMETHING ABOUT YOU and CN TOWER. Even these songs got old quick for me.
Disappointing, but at the same time I think Drake wanted to release something as quick as possible ... read more

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter VI
10

I didn’t have high hopes for the Carter VI but I am surprised at how bad it is. The Carter V was good in my opinion and Funeral was very mid, but still it is unexpected to get such a bad album. There’s not a single song I liked and I have a hard time finding a quality to the album. It’s weird because Lil Wayne is a very talented rapper, but it seems like he’s diving deeper and deeper into autotune and it just doesn’t fit him at all. I hope to see him bounce back in ... read more

Saba & No I.D. - From the Private Collection of Saba and No I.D.
60

From the private collection of Saba and No ID has some good songs, but nothing special. I really wanted something more conceptual from Saba because I think he is a gifted lyricist and storyteller and I missed that on here. Most of the time the production was good, but again nothing special either. The performances were mostly good, the best being on Breakdown.
I see the quality of the music, it just gets old quick to me compared to some of his other albums. I haven’t revisited the album ... read more

Playboi Carti - MUSIC
35

I am not a fan of Playboi Carti. I like the energy he brings to some songs and I like some of them, but listening to a 30 song album wasn’t the thing I was the most hype for. There are some highlights on here, but a lot of the songs sound just bad. I wish he kept a max of 20 songs, it would have been a way more fun listening experience. I get that his fans don’t really listen to albums from front to back, they mostly pluck out their favourite songs and listen to them on ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - DON'T TAP THE GLASS
70

DONT TAP THE GLASS by Tyler The Creator is a fun album. He made it clear that it wasn’t going to be conceptual, just fun music he recorded in a short amount of time. I like every song on the album. To me it is a good project, no more no less. Sugar on my tongue is great and I think it will probably age as one of Tyler’s biggest hits. Other than that, the songs don’t stand out that much from one to the other.
It really isn’t a hard album to review because of its ... read more

Aminé - 13 Months of Sunshine
70

Every year, in the month of May, when it feels like summer is coming, I listen to Aminé. Every summer playlist I have has at least an Aminé song in it. 13 months of sunshine really serves that purpose. It is a fun summer album with some depth. Most of the songs have a fun upbeat vibe and feel like summer. When diving a bit deeper into the lyrics, they aren’t bland, just simplistic, but sometimes they are just bad. That doesn’t make a song bad to me, just a bit less ... read more

The Weeknd - Hurry Up Tomorrow
87

Hurry up tomorrow by The Weeknd is amazing. At first, when I saw that it was going to be almost an hour and a half, I thought it would be filled with filler songs, but it wasn’t. It seems like he was going back to his roots a bit with the subject matter, and some of the production was a mix of his more pop/mainstream sound with his old alternative r&b sound that made me love The Weeknd. I am not a fan of every song on the album, but I get why each song is on here. I would have taken ... read more
