J. Cole - Cole World: The Sideline Story

highs are so high but some songs feel so filler. sideline story is undoubtedly one of his best songs ever

Steve Lacy - Gemini Rights

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk

I was speechless listening to this Thank you trextill for showing me

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2

No words tbh Freddie & The Alchemist cooked here

Favorite tracks were definitely Ensalada, I Still Love H.E.R. , and A Thousand Mountains (HM: Gold Feet, Shangri La)

Anderson .Paak was the best feature in my opinion he's always been a great artists and keeps it up here, seriously no words for this album except AOTY.

Final score: 9/10

YoungBoy Never Broke Again - MASA
71

This really one of YBs best projects yet but 30 songs is crazy, overall production was awesome, flows were beautiful along with samples

top 3: Where I Been, Wine & Dine, Shot Callin (HMs: Kickboxer, Cash Shit)

edit: more on the length: I wish YB would cut some songs out because there were some tracks like Alter that needed more verses and could've been some of the best if they did have an extra verse
He could've saved some tracks for the next album or tape and added verses to ... read more

JACKBOYS - JACKBOYS 2

I had to listen twice to make sure I wasn't trippin

It's been a long time since I've seen an album drop in quality so fast, it made my mind so much at 1130. Its hard for me to even believe this is the same guy who made Rodeo, Birds in the Trap, and Astroworld. This project was such a step down even compared to Utopia which had its flaws.

Pros:
- Don Toliver did his thing as always with vocals, nothing too exciting but good nonetheless
- SoFaygo seized his moment and delivered ... read more

PlaqueBoyMax - Five Forever

FIRST LISTEN THOUGHTS:

- the uzi influence is noticeable throughout the tracks
- beats feel recycled and some tracks feel like a broken record with how similar the beat & rhythm sound compared to the previous song
- some tecca influence sprinkled on some tracks
- lyricism is inconsistent, max can flow really well on some tracks and just not seem in rhythm on others (despite having a similar beat)
- KID CAPRI SIGHTING
- max's adlibs are meh
-60-70% of the album is "fucked this ... read more

PARTYNEXTDOOR - $ome $exy $ongs 4 U

Honestly disappointed in this site, giving this album anything below a 4.5 is some real hater shit not gonna lie

$OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U First Listen Thoughts:

This album isn't anything mind blowing, but it doesn't need to be. Drake is proven in the industry already and has little to prove quite honestly, he has a loyal fanbase to back him at any moment.

Biggest Upside?

Drake can still flow really well on tracks and still has his R&B bag. The beats are catchy as always and are a ... read more

Destroy Lonely - LOVE LASTS FOREVER

artists need to know that we don't need 21 tracks if they can't keep it consistent

This album was so disappointing, especially considering that coming into this, Lone wasn't in the best spot, his last album wasn't too good, and his peer Ken Carson just dropped an album that was loved by most and considered one of the best albums to come out of Opium (outside of Carti's albums of course).

The mixing is god awful, and I hope he can fix that, because it really lets down ... read more

Lil Uzi Vert - Luv Is Rage 2
80

This is one of my favorite trap albums so it may be a tad biased

This is the start of Lil Uzi's peak in my opinion, despite it being a 2 (you could argue Pluto x Baby Pluto too) album run, it was some of the best trap music to bless our ears during this time.

The production that the album boasts is phenomenal, the features are perfect (Pharrell, The Weeknd, Oh Wonder) and Uzi's rapping is some of his best. His soulful songs shine as well and are definitely some of the best songs on ... read more

Nettspend - nothing like uuu
54

A beat is only half the song and here the beat is heavenly, but God is Nettspend so ass at rapping. It's not hard to just rap on tempo and the lyrics are bare boned with no emphasis, it feels like a robot rapping

Kendrick Lamar - meet the grahams
81

top 2 diss second to "Hit Em Up" the production is so good and sets the tone for the song. The beginning piano keys are light hearted and then it shifts into an eerie setting. The production is just another addition to Alc's resumé. Its so unhinged too, with Kendrick rapping off beat and having a message for each of the Grahams is insanity. This diss will be talked about for years whether Kendrick wins or loses (but I don't think he'll lose tbh).

Good production bad execution
