I really appreciate Bryson Tiller’s place in trap/r&b ,he helped define that lane. But I still think Trapsoul is his magnum opus, and nothing since has quite matched it.
That said, I respect the effort. He consistently puts out music, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he lands at something at some point.
Anniversary is a valiant but muted follow-up ,its dark, moody, but it kind of blurs together. Not bad, just inoffensive.
This is a really refreshing, kooky mixtape with a charmingly amateur edge. It’s uneven at times, but that’s part of the appeal. I loved Done Shaving 4 U and the Doja-esque weirdness throughout.
Very vibey, very personality-driven not perfect, but definitely promising. One to watch.

I think Tems has been a fantastic insertion into pop and contemporary music. She brings something distinct. That smoky rasp in her voice, the emotional intensity, the almost spiritual weight she can bring to a vocal performance —You know when it’s Tems almost immediately.
My issue is that her output has started to feel formulaic.
