As far as I can tell this seems like one of the first industrial hip hop albums to get a decent amount of attention and I’ve been meaning to check it out for awhile. It’s super impressive project with great writing, rapping, and of course excellent production. Not my favorite from the group, which is Absence, but that really comes down to personal genre preferences and they’re both exceptional.
It’s a fun listen with some refreshing production that isn’t too crazy. While I did enjoy the lyrics my biggest complaint is the flows can sound a bit aged at times and a couple of songs have beats that play it a too safe and aren’t very interesting
It’s a really cool and unique sound but it goes too all over the place for me to have a strong feeling about it by the end
It’s a really wild ride with cool and unique production. With some kind of central theme or concept this sound could really go somewhere
The production was quite impressive but some of the vocals weren’t doing it for me
He 100% saw the Charlie Kirk bar polymarket and is doing insider trading on that bitch.
This is by far the most chaotic and in a way unfocused appearing album Peggy has released. However, it’s clear this is intentional and he is purposely leaning into the insanity and trying to come off as a madman. This gives the production a level of freedom to have insane switch ups, leave vocal samples high in the mix, and mash the most random shit together that outside of this albums direction I ... read more
Based solely off the band’s name and the people ik who have talked about them I really thought they’d be screamo
This album has become a perfect example of the phenomenon a debut album can be. After following Kenny for awhile it’s pretty clear that he had been writing and crafting this album for years. It’s a great example of how an artist’s first album is a culmination of all their life and work before it gets released and how following albums can be flops because everything goes into the debut and then there’s not a lot left for a follow up. It’s incredibly diverse and all ... read more
It’s nice to be back really enjoying a Kenny Mason album without having it feel a little forced from myself just cause I love angelic hoodrat so much. It’s one of his most fun projects to date with a lot of variety (STREET CAR isn’t even rap it’s just fully a post-hardcore alt rock song). I usually am not one to care much about lyrics but Kenny is once again one of the exceptions to that on the more serious cuts of the project. I really enjoyed my listen
Its pretty good, a bit of a hidden gem some may find. Definitely worth a listen if emo is your thing
I want to like this more than I do. Huge fan of the production but his singing was a bit too extravagant for me. It does give a bit of Danny brown vibes whose voice I do like so maybe I just need to listen more
This is the weakest Isaiah Rashad project I’ve heard. There’s a handful of tracks that just don’t do it for me
As a huge fan I really enjoyed it. Production wise it’s their most busy and complex but they don’t let that compromise their trademark sound. It may not be quite up there with the debut but to still be firing at this quality in this niche for this many years you have to respect and appreciate that they can still make stuff like this
Seems like every ten years they really lock the fuck in. The 2033 release is gonna be crazy.
Its pretty good the whole way through but the ending couple tracks are really exceptional and really puts it over the top.
Incredible improvement on all fronts from the debut. The classics like my hero and everlong are classics for a reason
