Leaning further into her bossa nova and RnB influences more for this album, Lyn Lapid was still able to create an immaculate vibe and palpable emotion amid the fun beats and peppy melodies. Whereas her previous projects examined a lack of belonging somewhere, this album focuses on having an unsatisfactory purpose or sense of belonging in a group—just to exist or conveniently serve as a plot device for someone else. I forgot just how good Lyn Lapid was before finding this album in my recommended on Spotify, and it makes me wonder why she ever disappeared from my algorithm. Yet another solid entry for an artist that is showing she's still got a lot of gas left in the tank.
