Pros: It has some banger moments, reaching higher highs than his following album. Some parts show off Virtual Riot's masterful sound design in a satisfying way. Although the theme is low-hanging fruit, there is a bit of adherence to it. Tracks 12-16 are a goated run.
Cons: It also reaches lower lows than Stealing Fire at several points, so it comes out a pretty polarizing album. "So Sorry" is a big L; if you're going to base an entire track off a profanity, that's just not going to land with me. Most of the time, it only sticks with the theme by a vague sense of association rather than intentional narrative building. Tracks 3-7 are a really strange run for me, and my favorite track to listen to ended up being explicit.
Overall, I enjoyed the album a good bit, even though it was a bit more of a rollercoaster between enjoyment and disappointment. A greater net enjoyment on the whole though!
