Virtual Riot's "Simulation" is a creative exploration of overarching dubstep sounds that feels ripe for the modern-day. Leaning more heavily into the riddim subgenre, Virtual Riot packs a punch in both the heavy and gritty realm as well as the more garage-inspired section. In the end, even though, riddim isn't my preferred style of listening, I can appreciate the complexity and quality of this record.

Something this vapid has no business being 1h long (16-ish tracks of brostep? cmon). VR has always sounded bland when compared to other bass music/brostep bros or even some of his label mates like Eliminate. His stuff just feels like a rehash of a rehash, a render of a render. Not an original bone in these very much polished, but hollow bangers. When I listened to the album when it released I immediately understood why it took him so long to put out his first LPs after nearly a decade of making music. One of his best projects.
Without a doubt one of my favorite EDM/Dubstep/etc albums of all time. Damn near every song on here goes hard as fuck.
