glass beach - plastic death

This is a really fucking good album holy shit. Typing this part before I even get to the end because I'm already so amazed by how good this album sounds. I listened to the first glass beach album just before this.

Genuinely every song on this album is so strong in its own way. Almost all 90's or above for me. Similar to my feelings on Everything Went Numb by Streetlight Manifesto, the ebb and flow of low to high energy is just so perfectly orchestrated.

The whole album feels like ... read more

I think I fell asleep during part of the first half of the album, so I went back to relisten to some songs. This plane is really cold and I'm really tired, so trying to stay awake is hard. "cold weather" was the only song I've heard off of this before listening in full.

This album sounds really primitive compared to what I've heard of plastic death. The guitar tones, kit, and some of the vocals are pretty poorly put together or made.

One, two, three, four, five, SIX SEVEN, eight!

Cash Only Tony's carries this split HARD. Typically I try to give equal credit to each band in a split because it's often deserved. However, Autumn Sonata's contribution to the split is noticably worse than Tony's.

COT has a better mix and better songs while AS is a little bit dull and boring as well as having way too much compression. You can hear it whenever a high note rings out when all other elements of the song are ... read more

I listened to the discography in reverse order because I'm an idiot, but self-titled comparable to just about the same quality as "Upon the Right, I Saw a New Misery" if not maybe a bit better.

Emoviolence and Mathcore are like a match made in heaven, and LLBNF is like the cupid that married the two. They may not have been the first to do so, but they really do set the bar for what a good album of this caliber with this sound and this energy should be.

Fuck a 3 song run, the ... read more

This EP is a bit of a grinder on the ears. Whole album sounds like it's been through a high-pass filter. Nonetheless, this album is solid at best. I wasn't really sold on the riffs and definitely not the tone to the degree of other albums of similar sound.

Most of the unsubstantial songs on this EP all sound alike. The change of pace with the album-titled track was nice, but the song felt a bit drawn out. It doesn't really take you anywhere with it's more than 7 minute ... read more
