Pinned Review

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

I’m gonna go into way more detail in this review than I probably will for every single other review I’ll ever make. Forgive me for how long it’s about to be, but this is my current favorite album of all time as of me starting this account, and there’s a lot that there can be, and already has been said about it.

First off, the production on this album is fantastic! Most of the positive reviews of this album mention the musical side of things and how good it is, ... read more

Paul and Watt, what the fuck are you doing?

So… finally time to clean out that enormous back catalog of things I need to get to! If you don’t already know me, I tend to procrastinate when making these reviews, so there’s a lot of stuff that I’ve said that I would get to that I still haven’t gotten to yet. I suppose we should start with this album, because this one’s only been here for a bit.

So, Paul McCartney. You probably already know him, even if you ... read more

So, I’ve decided to review this album. Why, you may ask? Well, if you know me, you know I love me some Brian.

Brian Wilson’s 1988 self titled album was his second big comeback attempt, following The Beach Boys Love You, an album that’s still somewhat polarizing outside and inside of the fandom. This album was different, though, as it was his first ever album credited to him and him only, a long time coming for someone who kept getting fucked over when it came to his vision ... read more

I wasn’t going to do these but then my mom heard the A-Side naturally on the radio so I felt it was a given that I should do them.

Here we have yet another British invasion figure announcing a release of an album, after Ringo and Paul announced theirs. The main track, In The Stars, is okay. I feel the lyrical themes are very stereotypical, and I don’t necessarily like the chorus. There’s a bit of autotune on Mick Jagger’s voice as well, but it’s not jarring. ... read more

Simon & Garfunkel - Mrs. Robinson

This isn’t a true single review from me, in the terms of it not being a new song. I wanted to review this single for personal reasons.

When the day I eventually die comes (which should hopefully be far, far away from now), I wish for this song in specific to be played at my funeral. I don’t have a specific reason as to why, but I heard this song once and it just felt right. It probably will not be the only one, but my hope is that it will be on the shortlist.

And to Joe DiMaggio, ... read more

You know, it’s rare sometimes to be able to just look at a record and be able to commentate with it without keeping track of so many things. Sure, those types of records are what make modern music what it is, but it’s also just easier to come up with things when they are just out there, right in the open. There’s nothing necessary to unpack beforehand, in the middle, or after. I could just write whatever I wanted here without really needing to get to the actual tracks.

About

Hey guys, the name’s Donald. (he/him)

Not an expert in any way, I’m just looking to expand my musical knowledge when it comes to actually listening to full albums. Aiming for, at minimum, 1 review per month.

I probably won’t give low reviews for too many albums unless I find them genuinely distasteful in some way, shape, or form.

Feel free to ask for me to review any album that you like! Doesn’t have to be from any specific genre or year. Also, feel free to give me feedback on my reviews.

(Mostly) in order. If I know I’ll be getting to an album but have multiple in a queue, I’ll place them right here!

these sure are releases alright (being on this list isn’t a sign of musical quality, it’s basically just me judging books by their cover) covering the month of May 2026 onward
