Process

With Sampha's new album being announced, I thought it would be a good time to get into his music. I've heard about this guy from time to time I.E. Kendrick's track Father Time and Travis' track MY EYES. Although I was never familiar with his music, I was always attracted to his voice. It's uniquely his: Soft, beautiful, and wielding of the ability to tug at your heart strings. But, going into Process, I had close-to-zero prior experience. On first listen, I practically had this project playing in the background. It was fitting music to listen to while playing games or talking to friends over call. When I started to seriously listen to this project, I loved it. It just clicked. I had it on loop for days on end. "(No One Knows Me) Like The Piano" is such a beautiful song. Without a doubt it's one of the highlights of the project. There's not too much I can even say about the song. You just have to experience it yourself. The opening track "Plastic 100°C" gives you an idea of the overall concepts you'll hear throughout the project. To list a few ideas: Heartbreak, guilt, health, and grievance. His way with words is impeccable. He's able to say exactly what he wants in just a few words; An ability every lyricist attempts to achieve. To put it simply, Process is heart-breaking, beautiful, and overall an incredible piece of music. I want more!
