And he's done it again...
This is the best Gunn album since Hitler 8 side B (my favorite Gunn project). There's basically everything that Westside Gunn is known for, luxurious songs with deep messages (Amira Kitchen, Prick), Grimy and hard coke rap (Power House Hobbs, Glowrealah) and upbeat rap tracks (Heels Cena, Mandela) Every feature here adds a lot, like Skyzoo, Mike and specially Brother Tom Sos (maybe not Stove God, I'm sorry but that hook was pretty weak). He doesn't ... read more
Yeah, the vocals on the background ARE AI. However, it's used as a sample the same way JPEG used an AI on either on or off the drugs, as a sample that gets flipped. That aside, Thug is pouring his heart on this track, after his VERY unflattering calls from jail came to light. His apologies sound surprinsingly sincere, this song alone has recovered my hype for his album (unless it gets pushed back again...)
Edit: Just listened to the album, obviously grew down on me. Still good, tho
One of my favorite albums of all time. Joey Bada$$ showcase a jaw-dropping awareness about themes of racism, discrimination and lack of opportunities for black people in america, over a group of 12 amazing tracks, which include the poppy and uplifting tracks like "Devastated", "For My People" and "Temptations", jazzy and moody tracks like "Babylon" and "Amerikkkan Idol", and hardcore hip-hop, like on "Rockabye Baby" and "Ring The ... read more
Kinda drops in quality towards the middle of the album, but picks it up again at the end. Not Joey's best or most interesting work, but still a worthy album.
I'm pretty sure everybody rating this song didn't even catch the double entendre about lynching on the hook
I wouldn't say that Chance came back as great as ever, but this album is a step in the right direction. It gies back to the Chance we all loved, introspective and smooth. I do feel like some songs (specially in the middle) are a bit similar to the previous album, they are still decently delivered (except for "Burn Ya Block"). While I did really like this album, I think he can surpass this in his next album.
By the way, why weren't the singles "3333" and ... read more
JID comes back with an album full of bangers, melodic tracks and a very impressive feature list. It may not be "The Forever Story", but it's not really that far off. Except for a couple tracks (mainly "What We On"), every song on here hits like a truck, and JID's pen game is sharp as it has ever been.
Overall, an incredible album in all aspects, a super memorable album for this year.
This album is way too long, and the sound it goes for is very outdated. Still, I enjoyed a bunch of songs from this, so I can't really give it too much of a negative score. I just wish this was more concise, because some of the songs do sound exactly the same as the previous.
uper relaxing beats, smooth verses by Gibbs and an overall great experience for a laidback, chill type of vibe. JID probably has verse of the year with his verse on Gold Feet, and Paak delivers one of his best hooks ever. There's a couple tracks where it feels like maybe weren't explicitly needed on the projects, but they're not bad songs, like "Feeling", where Larry's verse was underwhelming. On the other hand, songs like "1995", "Lavish ... read more
This is Tyler's gnx, just a fun listen through and through, no concept. Probably his weakest album since Cherry Bomb, but it's still a real fun listen.
Incredible album. Brothers Pusha T and Malice have a chemistry second to none (well, maybe Outkast but that's long gone). Every feature on here adds to the song. I'm so glad they cleared the sample for "So Be It", it's truly one of the best songs of the decade. Pharell's production is on another level here.
And yes, the yellow diamonds do look like pee pee.
This makes the first Jackboys album look so good... Unfortunately, Don Toliver doesn't have a single memorable part outside of 2000 excursion (which is the best track by far), Sheck Wes has no charisma, SoFaygo and Wallie The Sensei baarely even show up and the main star, Travis himself, sounds lifeless. No track on here is innovative at all, even tracks i liked like Champain & Vacay or Where Was You are specially unique at anything. Most features (like NBA Youngboy and Kodak Black) ... read more
The thing that sucks here is that it actually starts great. Every song up until "Flex Up" is great: "Welcome To The Carter" is classic Wayne, full of punchlines and a sick beat. "Sharks" has an outstanding Big Sean verse, "The Days" has a catchy and uplifting chorus by Bono and "Cotton Candy" has a fun beat with great chemistry from 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne.
BUT, from "Island Holidays", it's a horrible album. "If I Played ... read more
he """finished""" donda 2.
Being real, it's probablly gonna be taken down any time
Edit: didn't get taken down, just filled with AI. FUCK YE.
This was my favorite Kanye album for a while, and it's still almost perfect for me. The songs here have amazing production, memorable verses and some of the best one-liners ever. Still laughing from the "Couldn't affor a car so she named her daughter alexis" line. All Falls Down, Through The Wire, Two Words etc are still on rotation. Maybe there's too many skits, but they are very funny and add more than subtracting. This doesn't mean I'm listening to Lil ... read more
Westside has officially gone too comfortable
edit: my bad this is actually pretty cool
