Even to this day I still believe in a Chance The Rapper comeback. This album was really good, with his charisma plastered all over it. "Cocoa Butter Kisses", "Juice" and "Acid Rain" will forever remain in rotation. Even a song as stupid as "Nana" works perffectlly in the album. Chance, I believe in you.
he invented drill at 16 years old. Give this man the credit he deserves ASAP before he's gone. Great album with some unforgettable songs.
Tyler has been on a run since Flower Boy with no match from his contemporaries - maybe excluding Kendrick. This album yet again not only meets the expectatives, but surpases them. Every track on here serves a purpose and there isn't a single track which I would remove, even tracks which don't hit sonically as much for me, like Judge Judy or I Killed You, make up with their themes/storytelling. Tracks like "Like Him", "Darling, I" and "Take Your Mask Off" ... read more
The most recent Kendrick Lamar is also his weakest. Isn't much of an insult when your entire discography is perfect. There are still perfect songs on here, such as "Heart Pt. 6" and "Reincarnated". There are a lot of west coast style bangers in this album, such as "Squabble Up", "Hey Now" and "TV Off", which are super fun to listen to. However, the track "Peekaboo" has a very weird delivery from Kendrick which remind me of Yuno ... read more
62 for critic score is actually insane. This album changed hip hop/ trap forever. Incredible trap bangers with Nightcrawler 3500 and Antidote mixed with other great low-key moments like 90210, Maria I'm Drunk and Impossible. Truly mind blowing album and undoubtably Travis' best project. There are a couple of tracks which I don't find "perfect", such as Flying High or Piss On Your Grave, but they still add to the album other than subtract.
After EA2, the world realized they treated EA1 too harshly. Truly, this is one of the best Uzi projects next to LUV is rage 2 and one of the best trap albums. Songs like "Baby Pluto", "I'm Sorry" and "Venetia" hit hard as fuck. Hopefully after the disaster that was EA2, people will come back to this one, because it's really a great one.
How can you make a 16 song-long album feel more bloated than the 26 song-long album he dropped last year?
Answer: galaxy gas
Is it as good as the previous two MOTM projects? No, it's not. Is it a worthy sequel to them? FUCK YEAH. Ten years after the second Man On The Moon, Kid Cudi is still facing demons, however this time he's much more comfortable with himself and this album more than focusing on his current battles, he reflects on previous times and how he escaped his battles. However, while the other 2 MOTM projects' main focus was its lyrics, this album's best part in my opinion is the ... read more
If Man On The Moon 1 is a journey through space lead by Kid Cudi, this is a journey directly into Kid Cudi's thoughts. The dark themes explored in MOTM1 are explored much more thoroughly on this one. Honestly, I feel bad for him, you can tell he had a lot on his mind. Songs like "Don't Play This Song" and "GHOST!" really paint a picture of the dark times he was going through and I love it. However, don't think this means that this album is a pure pity party, ... read more
Kid Cudi is one of my favorite artists for a reason. Not only can this man rap (proved by songs like Cudi Zone and Make Her Say), but he's also able to create an athmosphere in songs like In My Dreams and Solo Dolo. This album mixes rap, rock and pop, but rather than sounding like an all over the place mix, it sounds like a new, innovative genre for 2009. Not only that, I love this album's mental health issues themes, and I love Cudi's recognition of his own struggles, something ... read more
Schoolboy Q is one of those rappers who always delivers great projects but isn't always mentioned with the greats... Oh well, this album is amazing and it creates an athmosphere no other rap album this year has been able to replicate. The different and contrasting instrumentals used on this album, even on the same songs, create magic. Q's lyricism is in point and still manages to drop some great club bangers. Overall, this is one of the best rap albums of 2024 so far, maybe even the ... read more
Even if you don't like Yeezus, you have to admit there's very few albums like it. This album is loud, weird, and over the top. "On Sight" alone will make you question everything you've ever listened to before. However, this album was made by Kanye, so of course it's good (this ain't vultures era, dummy!) Of course throwing random moans at the start of a song, screaming at the top of your lungs and throwing a jamaican singer sample at the end of the song sound ... read more
Probably being the Kanye album I've listened to the most, The Life Of Pablo is yet another amazing album from Kanye. The concept of this album is really good, finding himself lost between being an artist, like Pablo Picasso, a controversial figure, like Pablo Escobar, or a man of God, like Apostole Paul. Oh, and the songs themselves are also incredible, "Wolves", "No More Parties In LA", "Saint Pablo" and "Father Stretch My Hands" on the same album ... read more
He did make Graduation, and it was a great fucking album. This is how pop elements and rap should be mixed, every song here is catchy without sacrificing any quality. Proof of that is that at least 8 songs on here are songs that every fan knows by heart, from "Flashing Lights" to "Can't Tell Me Nothing", as well as "Stronger", "I Wonder" and even some more less-known songs like "Everything I Am", this album offers top notch rap pop. ... read more
This album is as good as a Kanye album can get. The production, the features, the lyrics, the pacing, all perfect. From the somber moments like "Devil In A New Dress" or "Runaway" to the hard-hitting "Power", the beats and vocal performance from Kanye feels like one in a million. You also get some of the best verses in songs like "Gorgeous", as well as some killer possee cuts like "Monster" and "So Appalled". The only reason It's ... read more
Denzel Curry who's known for his more introspective and aware tracks comes back with an album full of club bangers, which doesn't disappoint in any way. First of all, every single one of the main tracks is a blast, from the psychodelic "Ultra Shxt", the laid-back "Cole Pimp" and even the loud and bombastic "Hit The Floor", every track has excellent production and energy from the artist.
One of the main appeals of this album is the features, which in 9 ... read more
Childish Gambino retires his old persona with a final album, and to do so, he drops a soundtrack to an up-coming film. While the film is not out, the album on its own sounds fantastic.
In this album, Gambino goes all out and makes every single song a different vibe, and it succeeds. No two songs on this album sound alike. This album is full of different sounds and genres, including rock on "Lithonia", the sugar sweet pop "Real Love" and the hip-hop "Yoshinoya" ... read more
As someone who thoroughly enjoyed vultures 1, I expected more of this second part, especially after hearing the leaks that would be here. Unfortunatelly, most leaks that actually came out are completelly butchered. Plus, the chemistry between Ye and Ty isn't as present as it was on the first one.
First off, the mixing is so bad it makes the first vultures album sound like it's mixed perfectly. The song "Lifestyle" has a super loud sample repeating through the entirety of ... read more
Kendrick Lamar flexes on his competition releasing a 8-song EP of nothing but unreleased B-sides of To Pimp a Butterfly and still deliver amazing songs. This tracks do not sound unfinished at all, with the exception of untitled 04, which sounds like a demo more than anything else, and the second half of Untitled 07, which is a continuation of said song.
The production on this album is varied, from trap beats such as “untitled 02” and “untitled 05”, to more jazzy beats ... read more
Chance The Rapper’s debut album was a huge disappointment but is it as bad as they say? well, in my opinion, this album is just mediocre, not bad or horrible, but inconsistent. So, why is this album not good?
First of all, Chance doesn’t sound as full of life as he has sounded on previous projects such as Acid Rap or Coloring Book. His delivery is more dull and uninteresting, with some exceptions. Songs like “Get a Bag” or “Slide Around”, he adds nothing to ... read more
