I didn’t expect it to be better than AM and it is not but Arctic Monkeys, man! They are so consistent! I think the early stuff is amazing and I knew I won’t like this as much as the early stuff but I totally still love this and respect this for the change in sound. It sounds like underwater elevator jazz music or lounge music. Single cover for title track perfectly describes the album. Just in a hotel, in a room, hoovering your room and chilling out. Track 7, what a title! Four Out ... read more
I just listened to it and I think it possibly could be better than AM. This is so good!! This has amazing summer vibes! Unpopular choice but Library Pictures is the best song on this album. Reminds me of How Far Will You Go by Kasabian with that really fast-tempo, 4/4 time signature and the double snare on the second 4. When I heard this the first time, it honestly didn’t really get me, especially She’s Thunderstorms. It seems like they changed their style on every album so far up ... read more
I have been gone for a while but I’m back with a classic! I just listened to it and I really like it!! I don’t think it’s as good as Whatever People Say I Am, Favourite Worst Nightmare and Humbug but I expected to like this and I really did! I can see that this is the stepping stone to Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino. I Wanna Be Yours sounds very similar to Star Treatment for example. Do I Wanna Know? deserves to be one of if not their most popular song. It’s an ... read more
I’ve heard of Black Sabbath lots of times but for some reason, I never actually tried an album. I know Paranoid though off Paranoid. I really like that song. I finally tried the debut and honestly it’s actually pretty great. I’ll start with the negatives. The title track isn’t a good start to the album. It starts off good with what sounds like thunder, rain and lightning which is very creepy and cool but then it leads into the actual song and for me, it doesn’t ... read more
I am new to Talking Heads and I’ve seen a lot of people saying they love Thai album so I decided to give it a try and I came out surprisingly enjoying it. I knew Once in a Lifetime already and that song slaps, it’s so groovy. Also, I know Road to Nowhere which is on another album. But those two for me are not even amazing songs. Lifetime is great but David Byrne’s vocals kinda annoy me and it is very goofy and Road to Nowhere is good but not my thing because it’s goofy ... read more
I’m trying out a lot of new bands lately. Interpol is a name I’ve heard before, Turn On the Bright Lights is a name I’ve heard before, Turn On the Bright Lights album cover I’ve seen before and Antics album cover I’ve seen before. I finally tried Turn on the Bright Lights today. What an album!!! I couldn’t believe I haven’t tried them out before. I have 40 artists to try out and Interpol was definitely definitely one I had to try out and it was at the ... read more
I want to tell this story, it’s not that long, if you don’t wanna read it, you can skip it by going to the next paragraph. I really wasn’t planning on listening to this album. I didn’t even know there was a band called Boris until a YouTuber called Human Reviews whose real name is Frankie uploaded a music request stream and I was watching it because I had requested a song for him to listen to and I discovered there was a band called Boris. I somehow knew the genre was ... read more
A great album for a debut by Fontaine’s D.C.! This album sees the band getting the most punchiest, raw sound they could, especially with the first track Big, Hurricane Laughter, Liberty Belle and Boys in the Better Land, getting mellow on a couple of tracks, especially with Roy’s Tune and Dublin City Sky, getting a similar sound and tone to The Cure especially with The Lotts and a similar sound and tone to The Strokes, especially with Television Screens and because the band came ... read more
A great album for a debut album by King Crimson. 21st Century Schizoid Man puts me in a really good mood and is an amazing way to start this album and their whole discography. I love the sounds at the beginning and the quiet echo of the kick in of the song which people may not notice. I especially gave the song a 95 because the instrumental part, “Mirrors.” It is such a fun, energetic part that may seem complicated and you may feel confused cause there’s so much going on. I ... read more
My favourite album from Genesis, one of my favourite albums of all time and a step up from previous Genesis albums. Incredible songs on here that are some of my favourite Genesis songs include Firth of Fifth, I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe), Dancing with the Moonlit Knight and The Cinema Show. There’s not a single song that I am not interested in. Maybe After the Ordeal a tiny bit because I have given it a lower score than other songs but I still enjoy it and it is a song I ... read more
