Well it's certainly not at the level of their legendary debut, but it's hard to follow up something like that. Still this was a fascinating if strange surrealist medieval feeling art rock release from the legendary ever-changing band that had already cemented their legacy in rock history. They have added some interesting ideas to thier identity here and if your an Uber nerd for early prog then I encourage you to listen to this nonsense as well.
Wait...Deep Purple is still a thing?
For an old man band this offering has a surprising amount of energy while keeping an old school flavor. It starts off strong, but unfortunately fizzles off in effectiveness as it goes along. Honestly it's pretty damn impressive that they even had that much in them and was able to keep things at least serviceable to the finish line.
Recs:
- Show Me
- A Bit on the Side
- Portable Door
A fun little punky single about a dumb drunk that's abusive to his family and doesn't give a fuck. Instrumental is great, I like that the vocals kinda match the cadence of the protagonist as if he's bragging to his drunk friends after failing to bag that one night stand but he's so out of it he doesn't even realize. Good stuff overall and keep up the good work. Exited to see what the full release later this month has to offer.
A solid post jazz experimental rock release with a particularly enjoyable start and finish.

The woman known for the weird core song Hey Kids offers an interesting shift in direction in her full debut in a more somber mature dreamscape.

It clicked once I heard the second interlude. Was an enjoyable listen from there.
Eh, despite this post pink release having a gothic appeal, I didn't find it all that memorable.
Enjoyed a few tracks in this nice Art pop release.

Respect to Tosh and all, but I don't care much for roots reggae though one track was enjoyable enough.

Excellent instrumentation though I am hit or miss on the vocals I offered here. Overall a nice Latin pop rock full of spirit from the twilight of 80s music culture.
