Notable, but I do feel like it has a little less soul than his first album. Also felt a little more .. all over the place .. in a negative way. On the positive side I thought it felt like it dragged on less than his first. Less skits that kinda feel a little corny. I'll definitely be watching this one for how it grows on me though.
I thought she was saying "i can jack off by myself". It's alright I guess it's actually a pretty good song for contemporary country these days.

Pretty cool album, seems kind of ahead of its time. Not sure what's up with the fentanyl fold on the cover but aight. It offers a pretty unique sound and vibe to it, kind of dark and retro. Some very addicting beats like on Vanished. Some songs are definitely less notable than others but it's all consistently decent.

I thought it felt a bit generic but it works. I guess i’m a little tired of songs about ‘youth’ and whatnot. Still, it has a lot of interesting and unique pieces to it. I liked how the songs were all consistent with same instruments/vocals/etc but still discernible. I like it quite a bit, but I think it might not age super great with its shortfalls.

its perfect.... down to the last detail....
I kind of disliked the couple of songs I heard from here when I was first introduced to them. But over the years I've come to love it. It's easy yet interesting listening. It has a timelessness to it that I appreciate.

Lots of cheating
This album is pretty weird. I mean Vampire Weekend tends to be but this album uniquely. It’s definitely a mixed bag, although the lows aren't that low; it’s all pretty decent at least. Harmony Hall and This Life are the highlights although I could see other songs growing on me.

I can definitely hear the Springsteen and even Dylan influences on here. Unfortunately nothing here really stood out to me as brilliant although it’s consistently pretty good. The starting song is great though. Piano is enjoyable.

Remembering my first listen, driving through the high desert in the snow at twilight. What a vibe. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from this album when all I knew from it was the super popular song. I thought the rest of the album probably wouldn’t stand up to it well, but I was pleasantly surprised; It’s actually a consistently great experience. A very interesting and unique sound and vibe, cold and dark. Plus somewhat underrated.

I grew up with it so I’ve become very familiar to this album. It’s all very good. There’s some great moments on this like the guitar on Neighborhood #3, the ending of Crown of Love, the violins on Rebellion (Lies). Some of my favorite moments in all of music. That being said there are some parts that drag a little like in Crown of Love or Neighborhood #4. Still, it’s one of the greats.

Overall quite enjoyable and has some very nostalgic tracks from the game. Although, some of these songs probably could’ve been left out, like Death. Just sort of wasted space that shades out the better songs.

It grew on me. On my first listens I thought all the parts sounded a bit disjointed; but as I listen more they fit together more. I haven't really listened to much prog but this makes me want to explore it more.

Not too much stood out to me although there were interesting parts. I'll revisit it.

I agree for the most part but at times it feels too surface level and on the nose. I thought it felt a little disingenuous and provocative like not actually saying anything all that interesting, just making statements to appeal to anti-ice people and annoy pro-ice folks. There’s a couple lines I like but many meh ones too. Ultimately felt more like a hastily made protest song than something thoughtful that would age well.
Sabrina if she was diddy ahh blud be like 'do come through my backdoor'. It was overall a fairly mediocre pop album but there's some interesting parts. I thought the second half was significantly better, at least instrumentally. When Did You Get Hot? has a nice catchy 2000s sound to it that I sort of wish the album leaned into more.
While it arguably has some messy parts, lots of things make the album great and replayable, especially the warmth, variety, and strangeness. Thinking back to the summer of 25’ I was enjoying this thing everyday on a couple week long roadtrip. Listening to this thing in the middle of nowhere, falling asleep and waking to the harmonicas; it was a good time. Ultimately this is just peak Bob for me.
“Ice Cream Piano” and “Mary Boone”. Possibly a benson boone moonbeam icecream reference?
the two other songs grew on me a lot, if you liked the originals you should give them a shot.
I don’t really like these so lyrics I think they’re kind of awkward and corny. I guess it sounds fine though.
You guys aren’t real booners anyways
It’s not that bad. I’ve heard a lot worse and I much prefer this to Ben hooting and hollering in Beautiful Things. And I prefer it to a decent amount of pop these days, at least I find it funny. Same with the imagine dragons kingdom come song.
