i know its been said a million times, but its fuckin insane to me that this came out 30+ years ago... trent reznor was on some genius shit when he made this. there's such a strong sense of cohesion and flow to this album, like every song belongs exactly where it was put on the album and they all make each other better. i cant believe it took me this long to sit down and listen to this all the way through, absolute peak.

i wanted to like this more, but i dont think the production is captivating enough for me to look past some of the wack ass lyrics, especially the choruses. like 4chan stan is a standout EXCEPT for the chorus why did she have to write that man.

i feel a bit conflicted with this review, as i respect the hell out of the sentiments presented on this album and the raw honesty, i just feel like lyrically its a bit lackluster. still worth a listen imo.
