Cymbals - Love You

I haven't reviewed anything in a long time, so take this, and my adoration of Phony Ppl's discography as a sign of appreciation for not only its brilliance, but importance in my life

Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life

To the 6 people here I wanted to say something that was on my mind.

Music is a force of pure love and passion, something I have believed well and truly growing up. Despite it not being the form of art I hope to pursue, it’s certainly one I respect and resonate with emotionally and spiritually, much like a lot of you. But I am so sick and tired of people treating music as this thing to pick apart and be insanely critical of an artist pouring their hearts out. I’ve done this myself, ... read more

rating albums is too much fun i submit. I'm back when i wanna be but i dont wanna take this too seriously

Doechii - Anxiety
24

The haters are correct. The lyrics are just pure TikTok, the instrumental has not been tampered with or reinvented, just Doechii singing about anxiety. Boring. But I’m not about to act as if this reflects upon how good or bad she is, because from what I’ve heard, Doechii is great. This is just pure nothing imo.

Bloated in places but still powerful spiritual and vastly explores the disruptions in human interconnectivity

Nina Simone - Wild Is the Wind
99

A masterpiece of epic proportions

The Beach Boys - Holland
100

An introspective longing for home, a hybrid between ghostly baroque pop and spoken word passages framed as a children's book, set against melancholy soundscapes and wailing lamenting vocals from the beach boys.

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
31

people who treat Sgt. Peppers as if it is the "pinnacle of music creation" are the most insufferable people on the planet. I say this because there are so many albums out there, each existing with important cultural narratives and sonic explorations (not to mention more consistent tracklists with no bad songs). It just feels like a narrow perception to say that ALL music was influenced by these dudes, because to even argue that would be to negate the cultivation and evolution of ... read more

L'impératrice - Pulsar

The fuck is up with people on this site thinking they’re such tough ass critics for dissing such great music? Oh I forgot. You assholes only meat ride Radiohead and Kendrick. Losers.

TV Girl - Death of a Party Girl

Kendrick Lamar - GNX
61

Fuck man you guys need to calm down

Halsey - The Great Impersonator

Fantano’s recent review should be mentioned here, because if any of you are mislead by his hurtful words that’s on you. Cancer is not a joke. Being a mother is a beautiful but scary thing. Losing a dog sucks ass. Having the love of your life suddenly leave is heartbreaking.

Tyler, The Creator - Cherry Bomb

love all the soft shit and the hard shit, sometimes i do feel like he takes it too far but mate what are ya gonna do

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA

Jamiroquai - Dynamite

ESSENTIAL. The purest jazz funk album I have heard in this discography so far.

"Your Stevie wonder review stands to be one of the most ignorant and dismissive takes not only on someone’s work of art, but also an artists fight for civil rights and his positive impact on the world. The uphill battle he fought is just as major as the uphill battle you face to realise that someone is capable of being happy more than you."
On apophenia's review of Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life
"I should also note that Stevie was a major player in advocating for Martin Luther King Day, so insinuating that he lacks knowledge or coverage of real world issues is moronic. He’s done more for civil rights and the world than you have, rating every album a zero, who do you even think you are?"
On apophenia's review of Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life
"My friend you are a deeply sad and cynical human being to want to tear down a man’s happiness. The idea that someone’s optimism and hope is anger inducing to you says a lot about you as a human being. I should also note you hate basically every album in existence, so I don’t think it’s a case of an album being spineless, I think you just hate, and that’s what you thrive on."
