Cute and sweet sounding album with really innocent lyrics. Comforting listen. I wish the vocals were a little better but I guess they give the album its charm. The instrumentals reminds me a lot of kitchen/the loner(s) or dandelion hands.
in the stripped club. straight up "altering it". and by "it", haha, well let's justr say. My ego
I hate to say that I'm disappointed since I love a lot of teen suicide's earlier work, but it's the only word i can find to describe how i feel towards this album.
The whole album sounds bland and generic to me, the instrumentals of this album had me excited because they had potential but i dislike the lyricism and vocals. Half this album sounds like what your average person imagines alternative music to sound like. There's nothing for me to really comment on. Didn't ... read more
Instrumentally the album is nothing extraordinary, which is understandable considering Jay was a beginner guitarist when he started working on this album. It's a respectable effort though. Same goes for the vocals. I often like raw sounding vocals but I'm not too big on the raw vocals here, maybe because they're very underdeveloped.
I really like some of the lyrics on this album. It's evident that most of the focus in this album is directed towards lyricism. Cut so deep I ... read more
When I'm down, I can always rely on sad british music to throw me into an even deeper depression.
Jokes aside I really love this album. The lyrics are blunt and uncomfortable but they're well written. I can't help but get reminded of 14 year old me when i listen to this, the songs closely resemble him.
It's difficult to give this album a rating. It's so incredibly raw and painful to listen to and I resonate deeply with it having gone through severe depression accompanied by psychotic symptoms myself. I hope Daniel has been able to recover from the troubles that prompted him to write this album
Another painful listen. This album hits very close to home since I've been going through soul-crushing heartbreak myself. I can imagine what Adrianne was feeling when she wrote this.
I woke up blocked by someone when i least expected it so i decided to listen to this album again to cope with it.
This album has lovely lyricism, and despite how gently loss is portrayed every word still punched me straight in the gut, especially with songs like "not a lot, just forever" or ... read more
Painfully relatable. I don't want to experience the feeling that this album depicts ever again for as long as I'm alive.
This album sounds uncomfortably cheery for how heartbreaking some of the lyrics are. I imagine the inadequacy someone feels after being abandoned, trying to hard to find the reasons for why they've been left behind and why their efforts never made their lover stay. Yet no hatred can be found within them. Only pain and lingering questions that will never ... read more
First Four encapsulates the feeling of longing and desire to love in a really soft and painful way. Painful in the way of a final hug preceding a permanent departure. I really like the simple guitar instrumentals with the addition of melancholic ambient noises.
I miss the guy this reminds me of and I hope he's doing okay out there.
Favourite song: Miss
Mr. Beatles.. I’m not sure what you mean by “she was just seventeen”, a rather unexpected introduction to an album.
I was raised with road trips to this album, so I’d often tell myself there isn’t much to enjoy about it other than a nostalgic trip down memory lane. The Beatles was mostly just mundane dad music to me, especially this album.
Mr. Beatles can’t stop talking about love for even a second but I don't mind it too much because some of the love ... read more
This album grew on me a lot since I first heard it.
The production quality is very unrefined in comparison to their other albums, but I feel like the album has its own charm. The album has a lo-fi/noise rock sort of sound. The unclear vocals and harsh/noisy instrumentals amplify the gloomy, depressing mood of the album. A lot of the tracks have similar melodies and some have shared lyrics which can be repetitive to some. Personally i like the similarity of it all, and the whole unrefined ... read more
