the best possible version of a very mid formula. gracie abrams isn’t making a masterpiece any time soon but she’s clearly making a slow departure from her comfort zone as an artist
lorde is my absolute favourite artist, forever. melodrama is a toss-up for my #1 album, pure heroine is one of the best debuts of all time, and virgin is incredible. but i cannot defend the majority of this album. this is a husk of a decent idea filled with very little substance, spread across an absolutely slogging 40 minutes. the production aims for pretty but lands at lifeless, lorde's writing is only occasionally as compelling as on her other works, and all in all it feels like what no ... read more
