I feel like this song thinks it's catchier than it actually is. The chorus is surprisingly lame, but I guess the lyrical sentiment is kind of nice. I have no idea why this song is so popular, though.
This song is an absolute bore. The hook is so incredibly boring aside from the gross panning from the left to the right ear. This is just so horribly corny.
This isn't a perfect album, but it's definitely a unique and interesting artistic direction for Kendrick.
I think I actually like this less than SZNZ Spring. I can see what Rivers was going for on most of these tracks, but it honestly feels pretty half-baked. Whether it's River's sometimes clunky lyrics or the spotty production, most of the songs don't really end up being huge highlights for me.
It definitely could just be nostalgia, but I love this album so much. Untitled is still my most listened-to song of all time, and 4 Seasons is pretty close behind it. It's definitely not perfect, but I have a deep, personal connection to this album that cannot be ignored.
I've never described Rex Orange County as generic before, but this is definitely it. Songs Like 10/10, Always, and Pluto Projector are all fantastic regardless of this, but a lot of the melodies on this album are very clunky, and a lot of the instrumentation is pretty plain.
This album is messy, it's all over the place, and not every track is amazing, but this still manages to be one of my favorite if not my favorite Kanye album.
This album has some amazing highlights, I'm just personally not a huge fan of the middle section of the album. From Crescendolls to High Life, I'm just not super into the music, but once I get to Something About Us, I get reeled back in, and the rest of the album from there is an absolute bop.
I really love the first 4 tracks on this album. The last 3 are ok, but I can't think of another song or album that gives me the same feeling as those first 4.
Honestly, these tracks are pretty great, and I think some of the highlights stand toe to toe with the classic C418 tracks.
It's not all that bad. Yeah sure, it's a little dumb at times, but it's still a fun listen all around.
I Want You to Know That I'm Awake/I Hope That You're Asleep is one of the greatest songs ever made. The rest of it is pretty alright. The album has a pretty small amount of tracks, and with a couple of them being under two minutes, most of the runtime is devoted to these extremely long songs, and if I'm being honest, not all these tracks really deserve their runtime. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I just don't understand the hype over The Ending of Dramamine. The song is really great ... read more
This album has some amazing highlights, but I would be lying if I said there weren't a few tracks that I just don't care for that much.
This album is so weird. For almost every really cool experiment that this album presents, there's another experiment that just sounds weird and doesn't fit. I don't think there are any songs on here that I think are awful, but there's also not really any that I think are amazing (except for Deadlines (Thoughtful), that song is incredible). Also, I find it annoying how the vinyl and cd releases are completely different and can't be found anywhere on streaming. Oh well, there's some cool stuff, ... read more
I feel like this album doesn't get enough love. It's not amazing by any means, but it's a really fun and pleasant album with some really great highlights.
