AllMusic
These are recognizably Weezer songs, but they're livelier in execution, benefitting from a palpable sense of playfulness on the part of the band.

Northern Transmissions
Through all of ‘SZNS: Spring’s wacky eccentricities, it would take a cold-hearted bastard not to grin from ear to ear when cycling through its jolly hearted seven tracks. Shades and sun cream at the ready, let’s get ready for summer.
70
Gigwise

If the attempt with Spring was to combine a softer interpretation of the Weezer’s classic sound with heaps of folksy and baroque tones and aesthetics, then the majority of the EP can be considered a success.

A.V. Club
This EP finds Weezer safely in its comfort zone, leaving a big challenge for the rest of the EPs in the series.
60
Rolling Stone

With the songs all sounding pretty upbeat and capping off at under three-and-a-half minutes, Spring comes off suitably lighthearted right through the closing track.

50
Under the Radar
In truth, the sum total of these seven songs is insubstantial. They sound like spring only superficially, the Vivaldi connection isn’t carried past the first song, and Cuomo’s lyrics rarely ascend above cliché.

Exclaim!

Spring certainly isn't the worst Weezer album, but it's frustrating to hear them sabotaging their own songs in a futile attempt to pin down the sound of a season. So far, SZNZ feels less like a lofty concept and more like silly gimmick.

The Needle Drop
April showers and May flowers.

Spectrum Culture
It’s nice to see Weezer prolific once again, dropping new songs into the world faster than their contemporaries and with a devil-may-care attitude to boot, but you might forget all about these seven new songs by the time the baseball season starts.

Pitchfork

Rivers Cuomo toys with Renaissance Faire shtick on the first of four planned EPs inspired by Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.

My boyfriend's best friend says that he doesn't like Weezer because they're "too damn white". They're a pretty white band, but it wasn't until this release where I was actively startled by that fact.

Ok i'm writing this while listening to it for the third time.
So far i think it sounds like NPC music, harmless and wholesome but still has that fake happiness vibe to it.
Ok mr.coumo shakespear makes you happy what am i supposed to do with that information?
The first song is horrendous. Not recommended. What the hell are these lyrics? Are they AI generated? Also you said it was INSPIRED by vivaldi, didn't think you'd literally use "spring" to make a song.

Sounds exactly like the season it's supposed to portray.

Yeah im never coming back to this

I don’t like folk rock so I didn’t expect anything good with this series but damn. This is underwhelming. It takes the happiness of Raditude and js makes it forgettable flower frolicking music. What makes any of these songs unique

I like The Sound of the Drums slightly more than everything else, but this album just isn’t all that. I mean EP. Fuck

Very strong instrumentally!! Very fun album!! I Like It!! Some songs are a bit overproduced but it is outshined by really catchy sweet songs like wild at heart and sound of drums!!!
