If the attempt with Spring was to combine a softer interpretation of the Weezer’s classic sound with heaps of folksy and baroque tones and aesthetics, then the majority of the EP can be considered a success.
With the songs all sounding pretty upbeat and capping off at under three-and-a-half minutes, Spring comes off suitably lighthearted right through the closing track.
Spring certainly isn't the worst Weezer album, but it's frustrating to hear them sabotaging their own songs in a futile attempt to pin down the sound of a season. So far, SZNZ feels less like a lofty concept and more like silly gimmick.
Rivers Cuomo toys with Renaissance Faire shtick on the first of four planned EPs inspired by Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.
My boyfriend's best friend says that he doesn't like Weezer because they're "too damn white". They're a pretty white band, but it wasn't until this release where I was actively startled by that fact.
Ok i'm writing this while listening to it for the third time.
So far i think it sounds like NPC music, harmless and wholesome but still has that fake happiness vibe to it.
Ok mr.coumo shakespear makes you happy what am i supposed to do with that information?
The first song is horrendous. Not recommended. What the hell are these lyrics? Are they AI generated? Also you said it was INSPIRED by vivaldi, didn't think you'd literally use "spring" to make a song.

People are too harsh on this one. It's actually still pretty good, the later SZNZ may outshine it but it's still good. Angels On Vacation is enjoyable, All This Love is UNDERRATED AND IS THIS BEST TRACK ON THE EP, and Wild At Heart is pretty nice. Enjoyable listen.
