At some moments this album feels like a absolute masterpiece and others it can feel like a bit of a slog, overall the experience is nice and the vocal performances are wonderful,I just wished some of the fat could have been trimmed.
A show of true virtuosic guitar playing that never fails to keep impressing you, but also knowing when to take a step back and let the atmosphere envelope you.
Guthrie Govan is one of the most impressive virtuosic guitar players of all time. In my opinion. This album is the finest work he has to offer. Every track is a masterpiece and hearing it for the first time is like discovering a whole New World of guitar for a lot of virtuoso guitar music especially for back in the 90s they haven’t aged very well. Usually the production is very poor and features cheesy guitar runs, and obnoxious synths this album has aged perfectly and is the standard ... read more
While this project does have some interesting instrumental pieces, IE, The audacity and playing God a lot of the vocal tracks really kill the mood for me and I feel like it struggles to find its own identity. I really wish this album would have built upon what new levels new Devils had cemented but with many tracks featuring lackluster vocal performances and for most tracks, less interesting instrumentals I just feel this album isn’t as good as their previous works while it isn’t ... read more
Grooviest R&B projects there is with excellent production, strong thumping bass, and D’Angelo’s sweet vocals, this project will entertain you from start to finish with strong tracks that all groove into one another D’Angelo definitely set the gold standard with his debut project and I highly recommend listening.
This album is the perfect entry point for people who want to get into Quasimoto it features all the staples of his music i.e. the pitched up vocals and the unique sample heavy production. It’s an easy and fun lesson for old fans and new and if you want to taste of this iconic alter ego, this is the project you should listen to especially as it comes in with a 30 minute run time.
remember you was conflicted
Misusing your influence
Sometimes I did the same
Abusing my power, full of resentment
Resentment that turned into a deep depression
Found myself screaming in the hotel room
I didn’t wanna self destruct
The evils of Lucy was all around me
So I went running for answers
Until I came home
But that didn’t stop survivor’s guilt
Going back and forth trying to convince myself the stripes I earned
Or maybe how A-1 my foundation was
But while my loved ones ... read more
Although this project doesn’t take many risks what it does do, it does incredibly well and that is setting a strong, consistent groove and flow from track to track although it can come off as a little bit repetitive that totally gets out shown by the genius, multi layered production it feels like each instrument is bouncing off each other and it flows together so well from start to end, it’s enjoyable and satisfying to listen to what highly recommend
This album is simply perfect from start to end with excellent production to outstanding vocals, and a gripping story this album checks off all the boxes for me, and it never gets old absolutely one of my favorite albums of all time and couldn’t recommended more
Bugseed brings a variety of fun, laid-back boom BAP beats it’s short, sweet and easy to listen to although it doesn’t take any risks, what it does do it does well and there isn’t much to complain about. A good listen for sure.
One of the greatest experimental hip-hop albums There is. With fun and engaging vocals to MadLibs always outstanding production the beat conductors alter ego was able to bring a genre, defining record for the underground hip-hop scene a must here for anyone Who’s a fan of abstract hip-hop, or rap in general.
A fun little bedroom jazz pop album, The production is lovely and the themes of love and loss are relatable but at the end of the day doesn’t take itself to seriously, The album comes in a smooth 20 minutes and is a easy and fun listen would recommend.
I was originally quite the skeptic of Billie Eilish, but after listening, I can quite possibly say, that this is one of the best pop experiences I’ve had in a long time it was an album that made me sit down, and truly listen to it from beginning to end, it was able to grab me and hold me from the excellent production to the stunning vocals kept my attention all the way through and let me connect with her on an emotional level. Incredible album.
