I don't know how many times I've re-listened to this album, but it's been a lot. The thing that surprised me most about this band is that their entire discography is actually one whole story, with their first ever track "hollow.treatment" there's a certain ambient element that actually shows up in other songs in their discography, like the track "fromjoy" from this album, and then their last ever song from their EP "Ataraxia 19.13.8.1.19". If you're looking for some chill Indie Jazz, this album is for you.
This album is one of the, if not the best folk albums of all time. Anyone would love this album and Bon Iver in general.
I'm only 16 but when I was little my dad always put on Elbow. This album is really nostalgic for me, especially when I listen to the tracks, Jesus Is a Rochdale Girl and Dear Friends. The lyrics are very poetic and Guy's vocals are very beautiful. This album always reminds me of my dad.
This album has a very special place in my heart due to the fact, this is the album where I started listening to them. Every track feels very different but just feels like it fits in this album. Also because it's older Sleep Token, the drumming is absolutely insane at some points, and if you're a drummer like me, you will notice things about the drumming that others usually won't, and you will be amazed.
Favorites: Hypnosis, Like That, and Telomeres
Despite most of people's opinions on this album, I really like it. It's way better than TMBTE in my opinion due to his vocals not sounding so weird. One thing I dislike about this album is just its title track, I honestly wish they went more Metal on this track but it's alright. Now I wouldn't really recommend this album to people because this wouldn't really appeal to a lot of people, and also because their first two albums are way better than anything they have ... read more
I really like how Tyler is opening up a lot more and experimenting a whole lot more in this album, and in his new work in general.
This has to be one of the best OST's that have come out in a while.
I know this is Charlie Simpson, but that doesn't change the fact that this is an industry plant. You can clearly tell that they've seen the success of Sleep Token and are trying to gain some of that fame by becoming the next big masked band. Which I doubt it will. Also them music just sucks in general. My rating would go up by 25 if he removes that weird sounding effect on his voice. The only kind of cool thing is that they are incorporating Christianity into it, but Ghost has already ... read more
As someone who has been listening to Sleep Token since their second album, this album did not live up to my expectations. It just feels like they wanted to go mainstream with this album, which I guess they did since they won Metal Album of The Year. The only good songs in my opinion were The Summoning and Vore because they were really different than their normal sound. Also, what happened to the drums? In their older music, the drums were phenomenal and were very apparent. In this album the ... read more
Thom Yorke cooks once again in his band The Smile. All the songs are really nice to listen with (imo) Wall of Eyes and Teleharmonic being the best in the album. They should rename themselves to "Radiohead The Sequel"
Wow, this album was an atrocity to listen to. The album cover doesn't look good. Are all the girls supposed to have glowing eyes or did they just forget to add them on to certain people? Also it just feels like one giant cash-grab.
EDIT: Started crying towards the middle of the album on my second listen due to the fact I was experiencing unimaginable amounts of pain.
Better than Taylor Swift by a long shot. One of the best love songs I've heard!
First time I've ever actually listened to a Taylor Swift album and holy hell, the rumors are true this album is not good. Sure the first maybe five or ten tracks are good but out of 31 yikes that's bad.
