I don't know how many times I've re-listened to this album, but it's been a lot. The thing that surprised me most about this band is that their entire discography is actually one whole story, with their first ever track "hollow.treatment" there's a certain ambient element that actually shows up in other songs in their discography, like the track "fromjoy" from this album, and then their last ever song from their EP "Ataraxia 19.13.8.1.19". This album is one of the, if not the best folk albums of all time. Anyone would love this album and Bon Iver in general.
I'm only 16 but when I was little my dad always put on Elbow. This album is really nostalgic for me, especially when I listen to the tracks, Jesus Is a Rochdale Girl and Dear Friends. The lyrics are very poetic and Guy's vocals are very beautiful. This album always reminds me of my dad.
