This has been a difficult one for me to form an opinion on, because sometimes I think it’s the greatest thing ever and sometimes I’m indifferent to it. After listening to it many times I think my thoughts are solid now - I appreciate this album much more than I enjoy it, and I enjoy it a lot.

So the rerecording of Count Your Blessings is coming up, and people are hyped. Especially the deathcore crowd. I really like deathcore. I've been listening to and enjoying a lot of 00s classics recently and intend to write down my thoughts on them soon. Theoretically I should be so down for this. If you ever needed an example of talented musicianship absolutely NOT translating to good songwriting, it's this. It results in (mostly) delicious garbage!
There's some genuinely skilled guitar playing, pretty good harsh vocals, decent drumming, but everything else sucks so bad that you wonder why someone made this shit and gave it a thumbs up. While I definitely appreciate miking the guitar amp over DI, it's not done well and sounds really soft as a result.
