Not gonna lie, nostalgia is playing a big part on the score, couldn't find a way not to. This is a timeless project for me, been listening to it on and off for a decade, many, many great memories.
The memes are on point, like @pancaake said, this album is horny and depressing at the same time. Lyrics about not caring if you are being used and going along with the pleasure, complexities of relationships and the difficulty of trust, addiction and the siren call of it's destructive behaviour. ... read more
Shoutout to all Reign of Kindo enjoyers out there. Such an underated album, hidden in plain sight, waiting to be discovered by the next lucky soul to be blessed with these songs.
The name says it all, Rhythm, Chord & Melody, and they do have it dialed to the max, most of them are nothing short of breathtaking. They got that jazzy, soulful and classical type of feeling, they've done it with style and lots of personality.
The sheer amount of energy on this project is out of this world. It doesn't let you breathe, it's constantly going at your throat in a good way.
I feel genuine happines listening to this album bobbing my head from start to finish, Aaron's vocals are disgustingly good. And oh boy, that drummer is insane, dude is an animal, i don't have a single negative comment to make on the incredible musician that is Luis Aponte, been watching his drum cam's since 2020, one of the most entertaining and ... read more
I get a visible excitement talking about this album, definitely is a *Must Hear.
I Let It in and It Took Everything is very well tought. It feels like a blanket softly embracing you, then the blanket suddenly holds you underwater, just to then release you into the clouds to let you breathe the freshest air imaginable. The tracks are filled with gut wrenching passion, Screaming and New Faces in the Dark are personal favorites.
It's one of my most played albums for over 2 year at the time of ... read more
It's so refreshing, the arhythmic changes, the recurrent callbacks on the lyrics, the atmosphere on everything, Michael's vocals guiding you while flowing on that instrumental masterpiece, all of these things (and more), created a 48 minute experience that never gets boring.
For sure one of my all time favorites, you bet i shove this down my friends ears whenever i can.
A prog rock legendary album.
It can be so damn groovy at times, i could just imagine myself floating on empty space while listening to Glass Arm Shattering. But obviously Arriving Somewhere But Not Here takes the seat under the spotlights, rightfully so, it's an incredible journey trough and trough.
Steven WIlson's versatility really shines on this album, it was here where i became a fan. Also huge props to John Wesley with great backing vocals, Colin Edwin with those excelent bass lines, ... read more
The Dear Hunter is mostly known by their musical Acts, following a narrative driven story, Migrant isn't one of those, instead being it's own thing.
The album has amazing tracks, beautiful songwriting, and a lot of personality. The track "Girl" for example, where Casey's vocals keep mixing between light and heavy tones, with a catchy chorus featuring his sister, Azia. For those looking for melodic compositions, the album also has tracks like "Sweet Naiveté" and ... read more
