I melt for this. His voice is so unique and it feels like the most honest expression of every lyric. This album still lulls me into a pacified state of bliss after years of listening to it.
As someone just breaking into the genre, I found this a flawless example of what I ought to be looking for in a prefect jazz album..
I am updating my review of this album... When I first listened to it, I only saw another dirty-south rap proj... As I listen to it more, this album is really unparalleled. The beats stay interesting and new layers pop up with more listens. TM's rapping is interesting and delivered with such confidence as to make it stand out.
Mista Thug Isolation really grew on me. Looking further, I think this and maybe..... Mystic Stylez are the only REALLY good examples of this sub-genre of rap...
I feel like this album carries me off into a far-reaching fairy tale land... Not only do I love the feeling... But the songs seem bound to real emotions and her delivery and harp play is breathtaking and original
GAH DAMN
A near perfect soundtrack....
AYY GUESS HOW MANY SUITS I GOT! GUESS HOW MANY PAIR A' SHOES.... GUESS HOW MANY TIIIIIIIIEEESss....
I think this album is very overlooked in Jay Z's disco... The production is diverse, emphatic, and for its time... relatively original... Jay Z's delivery is some of the best in any of his records here... and I think stronger here than in Reasonable Doubt....
EDIT: Jay Z did 9/11
An almost flawless rap album that can really be listened to repeatedly top to bottom...
Although not originals, the songs as they are played feel like they are independent pieces... only bouncing back to remind the listener of the original melody....
Really relaxing songs... Maybe some of the best mix of horns/keys into this era of rock I feel like I've heard....
The Whole of The Law, and Another Girl, Another Planet are easily classics...
One of Lil' B's most diverse mixtapes... and as a rap project its really not that bad... in fact I think its good...
