Before listening to this album, my only previous exposure to Arca's music had been through her work with Björk and FKA twigs. I enjoyed her production, but it didn't really blow me away and I never gave it much thought. So going into this, I didn't know what to expect.
Sonically, Arca's self-titled LP is fantastic. The production is definitely the best thing about it, and every sound is just absolutely gorgeous. Arca's eerie singing is also fantastic, it's unsettling and fits the mood ... read more

There are some really great hard-hitting moments, especially on the first half. In fact, Waiting for the Crash is one of the best screamo songs I've heard in a while, and Childlike is fantastic too. There are some really good riffs, the drumming is solid, and the vocals are very intense and expressive.
Despite all that, this album has a lot ... read more
