"I'm dying."
"Is it blissful?"

"I want to dream."
so beautiful
Se So Neon’s first album is disappointing in a major way. Each of their past works, starting from summer plumage to nonadaptation to their flurry of recent singles, have shown growth and evolution and what I think is great music. NOW, however, feels more like a regression. Most of the songs are not good, period. The weird drums that are present through most of the songs sound cheap and very obviously not recorded live. They also changed Kidd, which had been released earlier as a single, ... read more
painfully comfortable is maybe the best way I can describe this album. This isn't really something you'll put on when your life's great; It's music you listen to after a messy breakup, a broken friendship, the loss of a loved one. Or even when you're just feeling lonely. I didn't really get the album at first. I thought it was kind of boring, with some great songs, but not as good as hyped up. I listened to it again, after the loss of one of my friends, and it made ... read more
While maybe objectively not as innovative or ground-breaking as other works, Nonadaptation is one of my favorite albums ever. SoYoon's voice can convey so much emotion, and is a huge reason why I love this album (or EP) so much. Her unique voice fits the songs so well, being especially highlighted in songs like Winter. It's not just her voice, though; The drummer and bassist do an amazing job as well, and are a perfect match for SoYoon's dreamy singing. Midnight Train is a ... read more
Se So Neon, while not always innovative, has consistently put out great indie rock for what is almost a decade now. Their recent run of singles, such as Jayu and Kidd, have also been really good! When I heard they were releasing a new album, their first in half a decade, I was obviously excited. However, hearing this single, I feel much less confident in the release. Twit Winter is not necessarily a terrible song; I don't HATE it. The song just feels so uninspired, and worst of all, ... read more
It's hard for me to review this album because of just how much I love it. I love this album with all my heart and soul, and it's been the soundtrack for such a big part of my life. One of my favorite memories is wandering the snowy banks of a river with my friend in a foreign city, New Forest playing in my headphones. I think the best word to describe this album is lush. Everything is so rich and grand and full, droning but not repetitive. Some shoegaze artists rely on the ... read more
A lot of people compare Cobalt with A call from my dream, but I think they do different things similarly well. I love the harder sounds in this EP, which you hear straight from the first song. Her evolution from this to Angel interview is awesome to see. Cobalt is an amazing intro song.
I like it more than twit winter, but these recent singles still feel kind of lackluster, especially when compared to their past singles.
ichiko aobas singing is ethereal, and her guitar somehow conveys as much emotion as her voice. this inspired me to pick the guitar back up but i gave up after realizing I have neither her skill with singing or with the guitar.
favorite songs: all of them but especially iam POD (0%) and うたのけはい
White Ceiling demo is in contention for one of my favorite songs ever. better than all the other versions for sure. However, apart from other standouts like soft bruise and escape, its clear why the other songs ended up cut from the album (still amazing songs though).
I genuinely do not know how to describe this album. mid-air thief's voice might be distorted sometimes, yet it carries so much emotion. The twinkling synths in the background sound like stars in the sky. summer soul's singing is so beautiful and is crystal clear, standing in contrast to mid-air thief's. the way their singing plays off each other is magical. this album does a million things, and it does it all perfect.
