once in a generation album

Title of this EP sure is accurate. Please release Gnarly 2.

I love several songs on this album, DOWNSIDE to WHAT LOVE? is a flawless run of songs. I just wish that the middle of the album didn't completely blur together in a sea of chill lounge pop. Maybe a controversial opinion but once you hit A LETTER it really picks it up again, I love the spoken word aspect and I don't understand where a lot of the complaints about that have come from since it is absolutely not out of character for this band.

This is an album very much enhanced by the story surrounding it, without that it is kind of just a new wave album of the 80s which is totally fine if you're into that (I certainly am)
