Vancouver Sleep Clinic - Someone To Stay

First heard it during Good Doctor and cannot keep coming back to it. It is hopeful yet heart-wrenching, gentle yet impactful. Beautiful piece of music.

Wednesday Addams - Wednesday: Season 2, Vol. 1 (Original Soundtrack From The Netflix Series)

This season song choices fell flat. Zombie arrangement was the only one that kept the mysterious dark vibe we love about Wednesday franchise.

Orchestra arrangements for classics (mostly cello), what more can you want? Never knew I would enjoy instrumentals so much, but it was an amazing experience. Will add most of them to my playlist

Corey Taylor - Dust in the Wind (From 'Queen of the Ring- Music From the Motion Picture')

I will be the one to say this, but this version sounds better than the original. Love the atmosphere it brings you into. I personally imagine a tavern, cigarette smoke, people wearing linen, smell of hay and sweat. Gives a cinematic feel that might not be accurate to what it was adapted for.

Too Close To Touch - Novocaine

One of the songs I keep coming back to. A great tribute to Keaton.

AURORA - All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend
80

You looking for album that seems somewhat heeling? This one might be for you. It is peaceful and kind of earthy in sound. Aurora has this magnetic calm pull in her voice that is also very raw and not mainstream. I couldn't even focus on lyrics because it brings me into a world I don't even know about. Is a bit boring from my standpoint, but very valuable in times when you want to slow down and find inner peace.

YUNGBLUD - Zombie

Simple composition, but this is one of those times where simple works best. Impactful song

Ren - Hi Ren

I think this site is proof how many people are very uncomfortable with darkness and music that isn't cookie-cutter melodic zen thing.
I love this song for all the wrong reasons - raw, true, dark. It is also something that isn't quite popular these days - very long, dual pov of conflicting inner voices, storytelling that sounds more like theatre than song... To each their own, but to me this is a masterpiece of linking music and spoken theatre.

Taylor Swift - The Life of a Showgirl

This one really doesn't give her justice. Once an amazing lyricist and storyteller this time gives us something that is bland.

BLACKPINK - DEADLINE

Jump gave lots of hope for it to be a listenable EP, unfortunatly, it is probably the worst release I have heard from them... Very dissapointing after a long pause.

This album was my introduction to Bad Omens and I am happy it was. One of the best albums I have listened to. Songs fit well with Noah's voice and now that I have heard it a lot live, I can say that they make music that is already impressive and they still keep upgrading it on stage. Great band and an album that will be hard to match.

BTS - ARIRANG

I was under impression that album will be rock heavy (for whatever reason). It is not. Lots of electronics which is a hit or miss depending on your music taste. Past years I have opened myself to lots of music genres so I did have an upper hand when listening to this album. After first listen I did rated it much lower than now, but after sitting on it and giving it another chance, I found a lot more that I like about this album. I was ready to put 0 for song no29, but after reading what that ... read more

Jung Kook - GOLDEN

Album gives off late 1990s/early 2000s mixed with modern music vibes. To me that's nostalgic and JUNGKOOK didn't disappoint. However, while I loved instrumentals, arrangements, added adlibs and also the singers' voice, I can't say the same about lyrics in some songs. It was either a hit or miss. Lyrics are not bad in general, but I can't help and compare it with Jungkook's earlier works that were more lyrically complex and not as generic, but very poetic. All in all, album is filled with crowd ... read more

BLACKPINK - Shut Down

This song is probably one of my guilty pleasures. Since I have seen the choreography, whenever I hear it, I see the choreo in my mind and definitely want to dance along.
Love the instrumental. The sample they used is actually good.
Now the bad side. It could have been a good hater slamming song, but everytime there was a line that I thought was smart and could lead somewhere, it dimmed down into nothingness.
I will have to add a bigger score than I anticipated though because I'm not gonna ... read more

Mitski - The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We

This was one of the albums I had no idea about but I'm glad I gave it a chance, because this might be objectively the best album I have heard this year.
Where the album stands out a lot, it seems like a diary entries (quite unique ones, I might add). The flow of album is perfect. I loved the lyrics, the artist stays away from overused phrases, instead focuses on something that is very unique in all ways imaginable.

Another thing I love is instrumentals. For most part they are simple melodies, ... read more

JENNIE - You & Me
66

The song has potential, but there are multiple things I'm not a fan of. The major part is instrumental. It sounds like one from karaoke videos. I think it would sound better with live band and with less squeaks in the background that current instrumental provides. For instrumental it's 5/10

Another thing I'm not a fan is lyrics. Some lyrics doesn't make sense. But it's not terrible so it's 7/10

However, I do love the melody the singer is singing for the most part. Except, I would want a ... read more

ONE OK ROCK - Eye of the Storm

Eye of the storm - great arrangement. Would definitely fit some sci-fi movie. 10/10
Stand out fit in - best part about the song is definitely lyrics. An uplifting song that is easy to listen to. 10/10
Head High - disappointed that it's not acoustic version that they used to perform in concerts. I believe when it comes to this song, less is more and the vulnerability that comes along with acoustic version is what this song needs. Still love the lyrics, melody and adlibs 8/10

RM - Indigo

Indigo is the album that once again reminds everyone that RM indeed is very introspective, and his passions reach past just music. His love for art, and his need for understanding human psyche is noticeable throughout all songs. Album consists of multiple collaboration, but it's visible the artist was very picky on who to include, each of them are well thought out and fit well into the emotions song is made to portray. Songs themselves have very introspective lyrics with noticeable inspiration ... read more

Agust D - D-DAY

An album that forces you to do research in order to get the full meaning of songs, including cultural differences and idioms that doesn't translate well, which makes me appreciate the album more. Definitely an album that will make one mad for controversial topics discussed or will make them fall in love with rawness of lyrics. However, I got confused with IU part in People pt2. It was in English and I couldn't understand the point of her part at all. It was a shame since their previous ... read more

Jann - Gladiator

The singer masterfully compares Gladiators with today's social media and entertainment industry craze. Song itself is definitely far from boring. It's filled with everything one would want - lyrics, instrumental, adlibs... All of them are done precisely as they should be. It's hard to find anything that I would want to change in this song.
