‘Indigo’ feels like a masterpiece with the potential to be remembered as a classic.

AllMusic
With that control of his artistry and the mature angle of these tracks, the set is elevated beyond simply a "side album" issued while fans wait for more BTS material; Indigo is an eye-opening taste of what RM is truly capable of outside the bounds of the K-pop powerhouse.

Rolling Stone

Indigo is an adventurous sonic portrait of RM’s inner world, the work of an artist who finds his voice by bringing together the influences that resonate with his soul.

Reminiscent of a forest with a hue of ‘Indigo’ settled within its trees, RM presents a vivid accumulation of lessons learnt, artistic prowess and a mature outlook on ageing.

Some moments fall flat – Lonely is cloying, paint-by-numbers EDM-pop that doesn’t fully land. Still, Indigo is a polished collection that spans both pop and rap with confidence.

South Korean rapper RM comes through with a smooth, well-produced pop rap album. Like with j-hope's album from earlier this year, I'm not going to pretend I don't like this because its associated with BTS. Also like that album, this one features contributions from some legendary names like Erykah Badu and Anderson .Paak, who RM has good chemistry with.

Favourite Tracks: Yun, Still Life*, Wild Flower

Some nice moments from features like Tablo on Closer and Erika Badu on Yun, but all in all it’s a pretty forgettable and straightforward Pop/Rap blend.
