Aged like fine wine! 'SWEET / I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE' might be my favorite Tyler song ever.
'Feel My Rhythm' é a title track do projeto e ela destaca bastante o ponto mais forte do grupo: a vocal line. Quando eu reconheci o sample de Bach de 'Air On a G String' eu fiquei em estado de choque. Gostei muito de como eles modificaram a peça sem tirar a qualidade dela, mas mesmo assim deixando ... read more
For a long time I fantasized about someone confessing his love for me by playing 'Sparks' on the guitar. This album never fails me to feeling nostalgic, it definely holds a special place in my heart! I miss 'Coldplay' good old days so much :(
After watching 'All About Lily Chou-Chou' this definitely hits different. The first time I listened to the project it didn't resonate to me that much but it was maybe because I didn't check the lyrics translations back then. The Parannoul's references to the film go way beyond the album cover or the sample "What are you listening to? Lily Chou-Chou." on 'Beautiful World'. The nostalgic yet so haunting atmosfere, the screams on 'White Ceiling' (my favourite track) and the depressing ... read more
I've been obsessed with 'Lovers Rock' for the longest time but I've always been procrastinating listening to this project somehow. 'Pantyhose' feels like a summer track and 'Birds Don't Sing' has a playful instrumentation that managed to have a 'Put Your Head On My Shoulder' sample without sounding corny. 'Louise' is one of the highlights of the LP for me and I like the bell sounds that it has quite a lot. 'Hate Yourself' has a gothic atmosfere that surprisingly blends well with the rest, ... read more
This album is so elegant! I am obsessed with Fiona's vocals and lyrics. 'Criminal' and 'The First Taste' are literally masterpieces. 'Tidal' made me become a huge fan of her and it was definetly one of the greatest albums I've ever heard in awile.
I went to listen to this with a total of 0 expectations. The intro 'KEEP IT UP' didn't captivate me as I wish it would. The hooks of the songs didn't impress me anyhow either and the lyricism is so ordinary and basic, specially the repetitiveness in 'IF YOU WANT IT' and 'WHO CARES?'. 'ONE IN A MILLION' non ironically sounded just like a 'Hannah Montana' song and as I listened to it I couldn't think of anything else. I enjoyed how a few tracks had a sutle violin playing on the back. Overall, ... read more
So, I just saw Olivia got a lot of Grammy nominations this year and I wanted to give 'SOUR' one more shot since I only heard it from front to back the day it got released and I felt very disappointed. First of all, I'm not a pop ballad person. The singles she released before the album dropped were quite interesting for me. I really enjoyed 'deja vu' and I was hoping the other b-sides would sound more like this indie pop song than the emotional ballad 'drivers license' that wasn't really my cup ... read more
A classic! I think this is a statement since the 2010's ended and this is how people tend to refer to 'Blonde'. It's just unbelievable how much this album grows on the listener. This record is so full of emotion and sincerity that I could hear Frank putting his heart out on every single track. This is actually my favorite project to revisit and every single time I listen to it again I like it a little bit more, proving that the replay value of it it's just insane.
This album doesn't push the boundaries as much as her debut album did and it falls flat during the runtime. The record has a few highlights like the intro 'Getting Older' which is a great song to welcome the listener to the project. Also, the title track 'Happier Than Ever' has an amazing production and it's easily the best song in the LP, I should mention too that Billie's vocal deliveries are just unmatchable on this track. Overall, it lacks cohesiveness as she and Finneas tries out a bunch ... read more
I dare to say 'folklore' is Taylor's best piece of work in her discography and it showcases how much she has matured as an artist. Taking into consideration the context of its release, I feel that this collection of songs portraits perfectly a cozy and a comfort feeling for the quarantine scenario. I also like how Taylor approaches the folk genre and how it fits her so well, turning into a breeze of fresh air after her past mostly mainstream pop focused records. This LP is also where her ... read more
