Carissa's Wierd - Songs About Leaving

the sound seems pretty flat/boring at the beggining, but the more you listen to it the more of nuances you'll see/more instruments you will hear. Farewell to all these rotten teeth almost sounds like some prog composition. Whole album conceptually is great, i love these vocals

i overlooked lyrics when first listening to this, which was a big mistake. I've always been focusing more on pure sound/production side rather than words, but this LP gave me pure satisfaction with getting into actual meaning of Billy's verses, which i think haven't really achieved until listening to this masterpiece.
even though tracks hold up to a classic, simpe shape of a song, instruments used here create dark, exotic sound that youre not getting anywhere else. Such a ... read more

holy peak!!!

Every sound here is planned and necessary for building this nostalgic atmosphere. Songs do feel like they don't have beggining and the end - the transitions are very subtle, yet they feel right and not out of place. Devon's production brilliancy thrown into way too long project with tracks that (mostly) doesn't click with each other. ofc not every album has to have a clear concept, but it felt a bit draining overall. It feels like he had a lot of unfinished sounds/some cool songs that he didn't have any idea where to place them, so he threw them here. BUT, after all, his rapping skills combined with majestic production and few bangers makes listening to it a positive experience
