evermore is like if I fell asleep listening to folklore and Spotify ran through and was like "hey, here are songs based off of folklore" and then I woke up to Taylor Swift stringing together trite half-cliches and fell asleep again because it's a little less engaging, and eventually stayed focused long enough to write this review.

Sylvan Esso - Free Love

Intimate, stripped down, and cohesive. Free is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard this year, and it's fittingly the heart of this project. Rooftop Dancing makes me want to be on a rooftop thinking about dancing on the rooftop. What If and Make it Easy are pretty great choices to open and close the album.
Not sure how I feel about the sound of Runaway and how it may or may not match the energy and emotion it was an outlet for...

Spillage Village - Spilligion

Soulful, folksy, groovy, thoughtful, crisp... this feels like it was made specifically for me. Bears like this the most.

Highs: Ea'alah, Hapi, Jupiter, everything Mereba contributed.
Lows: the half second phone ring in Ea'alah.. don't much care for that

Once one of the dozen or so CDs that graced my high school miniminivan's speakers, Hokey Fright holds up 7 years later.

I don't really know why I even purchased this in the first place, as I wasn't a huge of Aesop Rock until The Impossible Kid, but I'm quite glad I did. Contrasted with the album's pleasantly playful instrumentation and Kimya Dawson's delicate ~indie~ vocals, Aesop's dense bars feel less cryptic than they often do.
