The addition of 2007 makes it ONE OF THE BEST FUCKING ALBUMS OF ALL TIME
And is it a stretch to say that JID's dad had one of the best verses on the entire project on 2007?
DUDE, 2007 IS LITERALLY ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS FUCKING EVER. Raydar is the 2nd best tho
If I were to describe this album in one word, it would be bland.
There is obviously an effort being put in here to have some form of artist integrity, but the music itself is just... So boring. To be fair, I like art pop (Quadeca, bjork, etc) not alt-pop, but still, good music is good music, and this is just eh. Madison doesn't really try anything NEW on this lp. She doesn't do anything badly, but she also just doesn't do anything exceptional, or even GOOD.
The production on ... read more
The most annoying person you know will complain about how this album was not worth the eight year wait.
Now, it certainly was not, but rocky wasn't sitting in the studio for those eight years making this. All of these songs were recorded within the year and finalized recently. I'm just happy that we got SOME new A$AP Rocky music.
I know that so many people have already said this, but this album is what Rocky was trying to do with TESTING, as Don't Be Dumb is by far his most ... read more
bruh, ROCKY, WHAT THE FUCK?!
SINCE WHEN COULD YOU MAKE INDIE ROCK?!
don't be dumb is going to be SO GOOD DUDEEE
This is outright the worst chorus i have ever heard, being so deadass. it is so fucking ASS
They have good voices, and they are CLEARLY vocally talented, so WHY are they wasting it on shit like this and gnarly?! Idk if it is their fault for having to make songs like this, but holy FUCK this is ass
200th Review!!
Honestly, this is one of my favorite Denzel Curry projects, and it might as well be in m personal top three in his discography. It is just this insane Southern Hip-Hop / trap album with some of the hardest hitting bangers of the entire DECADE on it. It is a really nice homage to the style that Denzel started with, but I still do prefer the more jazz inspired instrumentals (the cold blooded soul version of MMESYF being his best album BY FAR), this is still fucking insane.
The ... read more
Honestly, I prefer this version a LOT more then what what we got on the album. idk, but i will take this any day over the og Monday
Motion Picture Soundtrack but without the things that made Motion Picture Soundtrack good. They made the most devastating song I have ever heard into some fucking sexy tik-tok song.
The processed vocals are the exact opposite to the POINT of the song. There are is no emotion.
and changing the lyrics from maybe to baby is fucking unforgiveable. Fuck off anyone saying this shit is good
"How I wish, how I wish you were here."
This album is just painfully human. Well, the title track specifically is insanely human. However, I will talk about this later. While I don't know too much about the concept of the album, I do know that this is mostly about Syd, one of the original members of the band that left due to mental health issues. Which frankly just makes the album even sadder.
The album opens up with one of my favorite songs of all time, "Shine On You ... read more
I fuck with it.
Magic I Want U is the best song, pretty easily. The 2nd best is probably Dream Sequence, but i don't get the hype around that song. Overall, pretty good, but songs like Music Baby and How To Teleport are kind of underwhelming.
Well, overwhelming. Sometimes, there is just TOO much going on.
Yeesh, this album is... Polarizing (im so funny). For ME at least.
It is certainly an odd listen. However, I can say I enjoyed half of the album. The other half? Not so much at all. I certainly (almost) every main song, but the interludes / ambient tracks really threw off the pace of the album. Sure, I needed some time to process the fucking devastating track that was How To Disappear Completely, but a nearly FOUR MINUTE interlude?! Dawg, the fuck?! That is literally longer then several tracks ... read more
"I don't wanna get a job"
- Since when did a British person make the most relatable song of all time?
Imma keep this pretty short, but I love this album. The concept is fucking insane, and the production is outstanding, considering it is self-produced. It is kind of hard to get into / follow, considering all of the spoken word / poetry passages just tossed in there in each song, but idrc. its a fun album :D
BUT I DONT WANNA GET A JOB
Wow.
You know, this album seriously grew on me. My least favorite part about every single Freddie Gibbs project (except Pinata, because that album is fucking amazing) is how little his voice / flow seems to change. And that was my biggest problem with this album. I couldn't really tell the songs apart from one another.
However, after a few listens, this has REALLY grown on me. I fucking love this shit.
Highlights: Lemmon Pepper Steppers, 1995, Gold Feet, Shangri La, I ... read more
Not review bombing, this is just fucking ass. Not as bad as the shit from 143, but still pretty bad. Boring ass production, and the vocals are incredibly annoying.
Danny Brown is a star wars fan?
Get it? Cuz Stardust was the name of the Death Star in Rogue One...
Sorry, saw so many people making LGTBQ jokes, thought I'd make one for Star Wars lol.
Anyway, this is a pretty solid project from Danny Brown. Not my favorite of his, as that would probably go to Scaring The Hoes, but this is a pretty damn good LP. It shows Brown going into a more hyper-pop adjacent direction, with several features FROM hyper-pop artists, such as underscores, ... read more
A fantastic song, I just cant say I really mess with the chorus.
TAKE NO MORE was probably my least favorite off of egotrip, and this is REALLY giving TAKE NO MORE vibes, especailly with the chorus. but still a fucking amazing song
AND NO SAMPLES?! BRO ANTHONY, UR INSANE
