Retrograte

The autotune is fine, and everybody’s gonna switch up when they hear the actual release. I thought this was excellent and very reminiscent of Phrazes for the Young and that 2010/Angles era of Strokes. The instrumental break that they used for the promo video is the best part.

Pretty impressive lineup for a charity album. The acts that I was anticipating all outdid themselves and I also got a good introduction to a few artists that I've been intending to listen to.

Despite some respectable highlights, I was a little bored at times with some of the tracks. I didn't care much for the opener and I thought the Lilac Wine cover was just okay. I thought Lecture 25 was good but this has firmly cemented my hype for this album. It's crazy how talented each individual member of black midi is.
